Is anyone running Focal K2 Power ES 165 K2 or KX2?

My 2014 A6 has the bose system and I'm almost ready to rip the highs and mids out and do a complete swap. Is anyone on here running the Focal Power K2 ES 165 K2, KX2 or KX3's? I'll be removing the factory bose enclosure in the front doors and adding the factory 6.5" speaker baffles. I'm debating on just doing the 6.5's and tweets or to add the 3" that comes with the KX3's.

For anyone that has the Focals or any other high power speakers in the doors, did you use the factory wiring or did you run new upgraded speaker wire? I don't know what kind of power the bose amp pushes to each door, but I'm looking at putting a DD c4.100 amp for my highs. That amp should push in the neighborhood of 150 watts to each door.

Feel free to give any suggestions or advice you may have. Thanks in advance.

I知 running KX3痴 up front and used the factory wiring. Definitely get rid of the crappy front woofer enclosures and have custom rings made for the baffles. Although you can use the passive crossovers that come with them, you can get much better control by using a multichannel DSP to actively set all the crossovers and send the signals to your amps. I知 using the audiocontrol DM 8-10, but the newer Helix DSPs are the most popular out there. The signal processing from the Bose amp is horrible- you値l get the most bang for your buck by using your own DSP to tune your system.

I like the KX3s quite a bit. Great sound reproduction without spending 5k or more on speakers

I use the 165 K2 in my TT for the front doors and I just had installed the 165 KX2 for the front doors on my Golf.. I love them quite alot... Great sound from them... I had a local stereo shop install them both, very reputable honest shop, they re-wired the TT but were able to use alot of the OEM wiring in the Golf.. They told me that the wiring in the Golf was sufficient, so more than likely the wiring in the C7 should be adequate...

Forgive my retardation, but did either of you use the Mobridge or any kind of LOC? I'm going to start putting mine together piece by piece, just don't want to buy anything unnecessary or buy the wrong piece. My local Focal dealer seems to be high on their prices, so I'm going to try to piece it together from the best $$$ deals and then have it all installed in the end. I'm getting a second DD 2508 and a M1d installed on Monday so my low end will be right, just have to get the highs and mids on the same level.

Thanks for the help and advice.

A Mobridge DA-1 is excellent to allow you to remove the factory amp for MY2015 vehicles and earlier. If you want a digital interface for MY2016 or later, you will need to use a NAVTV zen-v box. Neither of these are necessary if you plan on still keeping the OEM amplifier. They are amazing if you also use a DSP to control everything and then send those signals to your aftermarket amp(s).
