    Set default drive mode via VAGCOM?

    Hi All,

    Wondering if I can set the default drive mode to Sport via VAGCOM such that if I change the setting to Comfort (like when I am hauling my GF and daughters around) and then shut down the car, when I start it back up again it will be in Sport mode? I don't always notice that my throttle is a little more laggy and exhaust quieter but I do want the mode to be sporty most of the time, and certainly by default.

    TIA

    Out of the VAG COM Sticky:

    Set ADS to specific preset Comfort, Auto, Dynamic or Individual
    [09 Cent. Elect.][Security Access - 16]
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 63
    Set to 01 - Comfort, 02 - Auto, 03 - Dynamic or 04 - Individual
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 64
    Set to 01 - Comfort, 02 - Auto, 03 - Dynamic or 04 - Individual
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 65
    Set to 01 - Comfort, 02 - Auto, 03 - Dynamic or 04 - Individual
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 66
    Set to 01 - Comfort, 02 - Auto, 03 - Dynamic or 04 - Individual
    *Note all four channels needs to be set to the same value.

    I did this the other day and it works great.

    Set Automatic Transmission Start Mode to D or S
    [09 - Cent. Elect.] [Security Access - 10]
    [Adaptation 10] -> Channel 64 - Stored Value = 218 = Starting mode is always D

    Channel 64 - New Value = 00; Starting mode is determined by ADS selection at engine shutdown (Comfort and Auto=D, Dynamic=S, Individual=whatever you pick)
    Channel 64 - New Value = 03; Starting mode is always S regardless of ADS selection at engine shutdown (opposite of stock)
    Channel 64 - New Value = 11; Starting mode is S with all ADS settings at shutdown except Comfort where it's D
    Channel 64 - New Value = 19; Starting mode is S with all ADS settings at shutdown except Auto where it's D

    Just and FYI there is a huge difference in mpg between the 2 modes. I agree S is a lot more fun to drive around in but when i'm in D it really helps with the mpg's. Also depending which TCU tune you go with like IE for example they improve D mode so it doesn't chase gears as fast.
