Has anyone dealt with this code before? If so can you describe the fix?
I have no idea which window sensor is showing a issue. Rear hatch?

I did not get the 01384, but replacing this module under the rear seat cleared the 01403 code for me.
There's no breakage sensor for the hatch glass, and I don't remember seeing one for the rear side glasses, either.

What were your symptoms? My avant alarm goes off a lot for no reason...at work when the 18-wheelers are banging their trailer axles back and forth, the noise can set it off if I park too close to the staging area. Sometimes it seems to just go off on its own. It generally doesn't go off if I hit the interior alarm button on the B-pillar.

I'm parting out a B5 and just pulled out that under-rear-seat sensor box. If you're interested, I can check the P/N on it and see if it matches yours? $12 shipped and you can have it if it will work for you.
    EDIT: Nevermind, mine is P/N 4B0 907 357.

Gotta check the codes. There are a variety of sensors for the interior monitoring system. Usually it's one of the ultrasonic sensors because one or more windows are cracked (or not, as was the case on one of my B5s).

From my experience, if desired you can effectively disable the alarm by unplugging the hood latch switch.

You can adjust the sensitivity (from 0 to 100) of the inter monitor in VCDS to help prevent false alarms. It is set pretty high from the factory.

Try to reduce the sensitivity first. I did yesterday and mine hasn't gone off since.

Can you tell me the sequence to get to the "sensitivity controls"?
    Thanks

It actually only goes from 50 to 100. I set mine at about 70 I think.

Ours keeps going off as well. We had a code for the bonnet switch (hood switch). I changed the switch as the old fell apart. Reconnected and later that evening false alarm again.

I have checked the wiring and we have no problems with continuity. Started to dig a little deeper and we have a secondary alarm as well. Contacted the vendor and read the codes with their help. It is not the secondary alarm causing the fault.

At this stage I have disconnected the alarm horn until I get it worked out. Good luck and keep us updated and I will do the same.
