Door puddle lights turn on for 2 seconds before shutting off

I switched the stock bulbs for the door puddle lights following this guide >>>http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/308622-DIY-B6-A4-Interior-LED-Lighting<<< and after doing so the lights will not turn on. However whenever I open the door they turn on, stay one for a second or two and then promptly turn off. (both lights on each door act the same way) Any ideas on why this could be happening?

I just got the car back from the shop after a month of it sitting there idle, and as a result the battery was drained. It is slowly charging via the alternator now and until the morning of the second day that I had it, the key would not lock the car remotely. After driving it around a bit and re-initializing the key, it now works normally. The footwell lights also did not to not light up at first however after the battery seemed to charge a bit more the footwell lights are now working fine.

Could this be why the puddle lights do not stay on? Low battery charge? :o

I have eBay acquired LED puddle lights fitted in my B6 and don't have any issues - doublecheck that all the connections are tight is my recommendation.
