    I replaced my winter rims with newer Audi rims. Brakes arent clearing. It seems spacers be my best option. Not entirely sure sure which I should get.

    I have 2006 Audi A4 with pattern 5x112

    I see a ton on the ECS site. Doubt I have a local option? Not sure if I should get 3mm vs 4mm etc.

    My old winter rims were from a B6 and I think these are B8.

    I'd rather make it safe as possible.

    What is the offset of the new wheels?

    Same offset and inches and everything. All true Audi OEM rims. Going from b6 17in to b8 17in. My car is b7.

    You'll most likely need hub rings as well. I think b8 center bore is 66.6 vs our 57.1

    Wow sorry I didn't realize what offset was until I googled it. I was thinking the lug pattern I put in my first post!

    My old and new winter rims are at tire discounters. They put my non winter 18in titanium edition rims back on for now. I should get them back tomorrow. Is it possible to look them up? Pretty sure they are stock 17x7.5 from B8.

    If I have these correct, my 18s are:

    Do you agree they match my img pic?

    If correct, then my offset is off by 2mm, I'll read up more. I have a new born so my time to Google and post is sporadic! I'm definitely delirious and sleep deprived sorry!

    Overall is this going to be too difficult to run these two sets of rims for winter and not winter? My next task will be to Google this center bore thing

    If those numbers are correct you could probably run anywhere from a 5-10mm spacer and be fine.

    What you should have done was tried to mount the wheel that doesn’t clear and try to measure the gap between the wheel and hub. Then you wouldn’t have to guess.

    It sounds like these wheels that don’t fit did you the biggest favor because if you’re trying to run wheels with a B8 66.6 centerbore on a B7 57.1 hub and didn’t know you needed hub rings, that’s dangerous.

    Just got the ECS spacer kit last night and dropped car off this morning for Tire Discounters to use. Any video I should watch or tips I should pass along to them?

    Thanks for everyone's help!

    I found really good videos and have a much better under standing. I am also in a more rational place of mind. We discovered my tires were from 2008, so decided to cut that loss for now and run my all seasons for this winter.

    I still plan to get properly measured for what spacers,etc I may need to keep these rims. I have an appointment this week to do it right at a respectable shop.

    I do need a 18inch spare, seems impossible to find a decent deal on a titanium edition, so I plan to just get the cheapest OEM B7 18inch to just have as my emergency spare. is there a good resource/wiki to quickly see all B5-B7 18in OEM rims available?

    I'm a noob of sorts but I'll add a little bit of what I know to the thread. The way offset works is the smaller the offset the further out towards the fender the rim is going. So on the B7 my 17" rims were offset 45 while the 17s I got to replace them were 35. This means they were out toward the fender giving me a more flush look. Spacers will push the rims toward the fender. So if I got rims that were 48 offset then they would be 3mm further under the car than my stock rims. I could get 13mm spacers to acheive a 35 offset pushing them out toward the fender for the flush look. If you run spacers over 5mm you will need extended lug bolts because the stock ones will have less to hold onto making it unsafe. If you run spacers over 5mm they should also be hubcentric meaning they have a shoulder for the rim to sit on like the hub does. Like Evolution said if you're running rims with a different center bore 66.6 vs 57.1 then you need hubrings for the rims. They are rings that slide inside the center of the rim to take it from 66.6 to 57.1. There is also things like backspacing on the rims but that sort of stuff I'm not as familiar with so can't say much.
