A7 Full led , outer leds not working on low beam? SOLVED

No faults or malfunctions on dash, but the outer lights are not working on low beam. Only on high beam. What can it be, and how to fix it? Any schemes?

It's probably the control module underneath that's assigned to low beam. I thinks it's module 2. The the modules are LED ballasts.

Aren't the outer lights sort of adaptive steering lights? I believe mine only turn on when I turn my steering wheel at lower speed.

AUDIofil - as what I have found for now.

Outer eye is for - Turning , High beam, Low beam. So you have the same problem as me. Mine are turning on when steering, and switching to high beam, but when ot low beam - they do not work.

No, not for LEDs. All three are on during normal light use.

The only time the inner two are and the outer is off is for the "coming home" feature. Turning off the car and opening the door turns on the DRL and the inner lights to light up the driveway, etc.

You aren't getting any faults? Have you done a VCDS scan?

    SpectreGadget is absolutely correct!

    - Low beam - 3 LED working
    - High beam - 3 LED working + extra light in the outer ones ( 4 leds working )
    - Coming home - 2 LED working
    - Turning right/left = fog lights - Most inner led ( its inner the 3rd LED )

So back to my case: VCDS :

    1 Fault Found:
    764928 - Left/Right Driving Switch-Over Active
    C1080 00 [009] - -
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

And when starting on flash screen displays :
"Headlight range control: Headlamp converter active. Range reduced"

So there must be a problem with the middle module. Can someone confirm that the middle module drives ALL THREE BULBS for low beam?

First module is for DAY lights.
Second module is for low beam.
Third module is for high beam.

From inside to outside of the headlight assembly (left to right in your pictures)

Module 1 - Daylight Running Lights (DRL) only
Module 2 - High Beams and Cornering Lights
Module 3 - All Low Beams (called dipped)

I've had to replace Module 2 on my left headlight as the cornering lights were out. (high beams worked)
I've had to replace Module 2 and 3 on my right headlight as it developed a leak and water shorted the modules. Only the DRLs were working

Module 2 and 3 have identical housing, but are 'keyed' differently so they only fit within their proper spot.

It seems like High beams are delivered by moving a mirror piece in place. I can hear and see movement when the car isn't running and I turn on high beams. I haven't found any exploded diagrams of the headlight since they are considered a single unit, but that's my best guess.

My bad. Yeah, I have all 3 lights on when driving. I got confused because I always see just 2 on when I park.

I must find diagram to confirm its one unit for high and low beam ( 3rd eye ) .
    - If it is one, no problem with the ballast. May be some coding.
    - It it is two, may be the ballast has some problem.

Also i see that both ballast look exactly the same, and the only one difference is in the final letters. May be will try to switch them and see what happens. I will be very happy to find diagram for the head light working system and units.

As I said earlier, "Module 2 and 3 have identical housing, but are 'keyed' differently so they only fit within their proper spot.". You would be advised not to try to switch. They are different part numbers for a real reason. Or you could try and then need to buy two modules instead of one.

    FULL SUCCESS :)

Outer eyes can be turned off/on by the MMI menu.

    - Car -> Vehicle settings -> Exterior lightning -> Lights for driving on left ( on/off )

When turned on - warning appears on ignition " light reduced"

I am looking to replace all modules. I feel confident about two of them, but Everywhere I look to buy, the OEM description for the outer module (dipped beam ) says for xenon in the description of the module; the part I pulled out is matches the part I’m looking to order (4G0 907 472. Lemio ABL)but I have LED lights, not xenon. Is the description wrong? or do I have the wrong module, or is the dipped beam actually a xenon bulb, even though I have LED?

    Hi
Did you find the solution to this in the end?
Water got into my headlight as well.
Now i have the drl, signal, turn and high beam working. The low beams dont work.
Im thinking its module 3 which is without the A. Is getting one from Ali Express worth it?

Does anyone know the coding to enable all three lights to be on with coming home instead of just the two inner lights?
