For those who like to see numbers, here is a Dragy screenshot of our in house B9 A4 2.0T. This is running the full Revo performance pack with the exception of the Cat, which wasn't available at the time. We are running the JHM 3" Cat and Downpipe. It is currently the fastest B9 2.0T in the USA. Who is faster? A few other B9 A4s in Russia - Revo tuned of course!

91 octane shell V Power fuel, full tank, full weighted interior.

Iím sure the software will void the warranty but how about these other parts?

Technically the only way to "void" a warranty is to total the car out, aka salvage title.

However Audi can deny a warranty claim if the vehicle is modified - by law they have to prove the modifications caused failure.

Our best suggestion is to flash the vehicle back to stock before any dealer visit. In many cases it may be best to remove the intake and other hardware if you need to. However the dealers may not care too much with some hardware bolt ons if you are going in for service or maintenance. If you have catastrophic failure it would be best to put the entire vehicle back to stock before a dealer visit.

This really isnt accurate and the line really has become more defined over the last 10 years as to what the manufacture/dealer can do and what the MMA protects the consumer from. Audi most certainly can deny and void the powertrain warranty if a vehicle some in with a non-OEM tune. They do it all the time here in the USA. Bring your Audi in for an oil change and if they plug into the vehicle and scan it and find a non-OEM tune in the vehicle Audi will flag the vehicle TD1 in their system and will not warranty the drivetrain at that point.

The MMA act protects the consumer when they use non-OEM parts on their vehicle. IE instead of using an Audi air filter you use a FRAM air filter. If the engine blows up Audi would have to prove the FRAM air filter caused the problem. Same goes for spark plugs, oil and oil filters. The MMA act states if a manufacture is going to demand certain oil and or maintenance items and that non-use will void the warranty that the manufacture has to provide those items at no cost and included under the manufacture warranty.

The MMA act does not protect a consumer if they modify the vehicles ECM/TCM tunes, several years ago the manufactures in the USA fought the .Gov saying that tunes are the proprietary property of the manufacture and that it should be made illegal for anyone to break the code and change it. This is part of the reason the manufactures are continually trying to make their code harder to crack.

While you are correct on the parts aspect of the MMA act, we have still heard of many people have cars flagged TD1 that were still approved under warranty repairs. Even if a car is TD1, the dealer must prove the tuning caused whatever component to fail. They are not allowed to right away deny any and or all warranty due to TD1. The TD1 is just a flag in Elsa that tells the dealer / technician that vehicle has had at least one instance of "incorrect engine software". You can also have the vehicle re-scanned for Audi to determine if the vehicle still has the right or wrong software, but the flag does not go away.

It was also brought to our attention that we cracked the 4 second 0-60 barrier! 3.97 from the 1/4 mile run above, not bad!
