It’s pretty much the same or a tad better.
    But definitely not any worse.

All the tunes I've seen out there get better gas mileage, but no one can tell because of all the fun they're having with the go pedal.

Fuel economy is usually (really) bad at first while most are enjoying the new extra 100hp

Realistically depending on the engine and driver you should net either the same fuel economy as the stock tune, or slightly better. On our cars and customer vehicles we've seen reports as much as 2-3mpg improvement on a gasoline engine.

I pulled a quick google search and found their Facebook page. I don't have experience with that dealer but you can message them and see if they can assist.

Worst case we are just a few hours from Vegas and you can enjoy the beach

Did you ever get 0-60 or 1/4 numbers? Either a track time or even vbox/draggy times would do.

Chiming in to get notifications on this thread. I had a piggy back on my S4 and it was great until it started causing engine hesitation after being on for a year. Removed it and problem went away. On my fifth Audi and never had a ECU tune. Want the power boost but concerned about unforeseen issues.

Yes I have some data however I tested the Q7 around a weekend where I tested a few other cars so the data is there I just need to find it! Will try to update this thread soon. I had only acquired 0-60 and 1/8 mile data however.

I'm afraid this is one of those things where "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." TD1 is triggered when a stealership connects you car to their network and detects a non-standard flash tune. If your main concern is maintaining the warranty, perhaps you should consider an easily-removable piggy-back. As djkyky pointed out, they aren't great, but are completely removable.

I would like to point out that from all of the Q7s we have flashed so far, as long as they go back to stock before any dealer visit I have not had any concerns with this TD1 thing people speak of

To bad it requires a trip to have it turned back to stock, a flash at home option would be much easier.

Just had my Q7 flashed today. Stage 1 C for 93 octane. Difference is NOTICEABLE. A must have for this engine. Biggest difference was in the lower gears.

    Awesome!

We have a lot of our California customers running on Map C also (mixing 91 octane and 3-4 gallons of E85) to make some great power.

What is the end result octane rating when you mix 3-4 gallons of E85 and 91 octane? And is it really safe to do so?

By mixing 3-4 gallons of E85 into the fuel tank of the Q7 with the remainder of 91 you are effectively increasing octane to around 93 and a total ethanol content of e25 or so. This is assuming you are getting a good batch of ethanol from the pump.

Since map C from Revo is a 93 octane map, and map B is a 92 octane map, map A is for only 91, this is a safe area to blend into and enjoy the power.

Nearly all fuel pumps in the US are running 10% ethanol as it is, and these ecus from what we have seen can safely adapt to up to around e30-5 and even e40 in some instances without any issues regarding fuel trims.

South America / Brazil have higher ethanol content in their fuel (~e20-30) at the pump, so the newer Audi engine managements will hold up very well.

For those who asked, here is some before and after acceleration data we just tested from a Q7.

This truck is on 91 octane fuel, has 22" Rotiform wheels, 412mm Brembo 8 piston brakes, and two car seats in the back.

Since this thread is focused on the 2017+ 4M Q7 I am going to send you a PM that is specific to your 2015 4L Q7.

Hey Shawn.......Gonna revive an old thread here.

Do you guys have anyone towing with a tune on the Q7? I drag a ~4k lb boat around on the weekends in the summer. Curious how continued time in boost with a big load would affect intake temps, and other cooling systems.

    Any thoughts?

    Just seeing this now.

We have many 4L Q7 customers that are tuned and towing - even our original 2017 Q7 4M was tuned and towed our GTI race car around to the track on the weekends. No problem at all! 2800lb car, aluminum trailer, and the Q7 loaded with gear.

Awesome. Thanks for the response. Appears I have a 4M not a 4L (2017 Q7). Been towing this around for the last few months with great success, however it's completely stock. Boat prepped for teh lake with a full 30gal fuel load was 3,150lb on the trailer this spring. Should be really comparable to that race car on a trailer.

Final question (can't find the answer on the site). Do you guys offer any level of "tune at home" setup? Trip from KY to CA is gonna be a long one for a tune!

Sorry for the late response, once again. I don't get alerts in this thread.

Revo does not have a flash at home method, you would have to visit a tuning dealer.
