Just wondering if anyone has attempted this. Kinda bummed my car didn't come with it. You'd think it would be standard on an S model but you know Audi and its weird option decisions.

Im actually looking to retrofit this into my 18 a3

From what I gathered. You will need the rs3 mirror assy, mirror switch, Trim for it, and optic light.

Coding should be cake but I haven't tried this yet.

I would actually be doing it spring of next year

Here is what I am going to buy in the spring.

    8V5-857-409-AC-9B9 MOUNTIng
    8V5-857-410-AJ-9B9 MOUNTING
    8V0-919-173-B OPTIC
    8V0-959-565-N Switch

My cost with tax would end up being 878.91 and that's at the dealer level

I could get the folding mirrors, door modules, mirror switch with heated mirror function as well as the door handle insert with proper cutouts as a set for about $400 plus shipping from my supplier, all brand new OEM Audi parts. Set with aftermarket module is about $300 plus shipping...

It depends on if Audi used the same module between the two. It’s not uncommon to have a high/lowline revision for some modules between trims. VW used to do this all the time, not sure if Audi does it as frequently.

You can find the full retrofit on AliExpress too.

I pieced mine together. Switch, armrest, door modules, mirrors and coding are needed.

When coding , make sure to set the door modules to left or right hand drive, otherwise they will do the opposite of the switch direction.

Overall, it's a simple retrofit. Wires are held on internally with clips, so don't pull too hard or you might damage the wires. Three bolts hold the actual mirror to the door behind the door card plate.

Didn't realize how expensive it is to retro fit. May just keep the normal mirrors lol
