The R8 brake calipers have an additional metal bracket that goes across the bottom of the caliper. As the other RS cars that use the similar 8 piston front calipers do not. I had to unbolt that piece and change the rear mounting bracket so that I could use R8 front calipers on my B6 S4.

The square parts are for brackets as stated above. The round part bolted on is a mass damper.
This was added to change the frequency and reduce noise from the caliper.
