B8.5 Allroad - center speaker and sub only working

I have a weird problem that just started today.

2013 Allroad, MMI, nav, non-B&O system, entire car is bone stock.

I was driving home this afternoon and was talking to my wife on the phone through the Bluetooth connection to the MMI. While we were talking, I suddenly could not hear her anymore (she could hear me though I found out later). I turned my phone on/off, and then the phone would not connect back to the car. I connected the phone manually and the connection started working again. At the same time, once I flipped back over to the radio, I realized that most of the speakers quit working. The only speakers working now are the center speaker in the dash, and the subwoofer. Nothing else is working. Everything worked fine before I lost the connection to Bluetooth. Nothing weird happened before, just lost the call sound and then all of this other stuff was discovered after.

I unplugged the main plug from the amp in the back left compartment for an hour or so. No change in status.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what may have caused this and a possible fix? I hit the search and didn't find anything except relevant except for a 7 year old post on a 2005 car, with no follow-up to the resolution.

    Thanks

That sound like a bad amplifier in the trunk.

That's kinda where I was leaning. Pain in the neck. Stock amp isn't cheap. I don't really want to go digging into the dash and replacing things, as I prefer the stock stereo interface/etc.

I need to read up on this forum and see if there are any options for popping an aftermarket amp into the stock system.

EDIT: If you know of any options, i.e. amp and adapter wiring options, I'm all ears!

    Thanks
