    2009 a6 3.0T intake upgrades supercharger whine

    Hello,

I have an 09 a6 with 3.0t supercharged engine. I ordered roc euro intake but its been taking a while and after reading forum i see its better to just buy 034 tube and high flow drop in filter. Problem is, i cant find any actual detailed posts on it. I read the tube has to be modified to fit the a6 as its designed for the s4.

Can anyone provide me with specific links and or part numbers i would need to purchase and any details on the mods i would have to do?

Is there anywhere else i can get an intake that doesn't take months to deliver? Can the IE cold air intake system for this engine but for s4/s5 fit this model car?
I also saw CTS turbo has one for the b8/b8.5 3.0t s4,s5, sq5 for 330$, would this fit my a6 c6 model?

My goal is supercharger whine which currently is silent primarily and a boost to power and airflow is a huge wanted plus too.

Currently i am looking at 034 hose and the afe 10-10125 filter. Would these fit without any mods and increase sound/performance without any issues/long term damage?

So there has been a lot of discussion on this. The 034 hose with drop in air filter retains the stock airbox that is a sealed system with a cold air snorkel coming from the grill. This would seem to retain the “cold air” design intended by Audi.
The Roc*Euro intake removes the airbox completely and therefore allows the motor to suck in hot engine compartment air as the filter is exposed and not sealed.
Debate rages on which is better for performance.

As much as your reply is appreciated, the problem with the other posts about this topic is that all the replies are similar to yours in that they don't really answer the question.

I understand what it does and why it might be better to go with the pipe and filter instead, that part of my question was what parts specifically (filter etc) i would have to buy for that for my car and what modifications i would need to do with these parts in order to successfully increase whine/power without flaws/issues.
Its just kinda vague and makes us a6 owners hesitate to purchase these parts as this car is not listed as compatible with those even though its the same engine.

(P.s did everyone with roc euros just deal with the months of shipping time or is it a seasonal thing?)

I was the very first person to put a Roc*euro intake on a C6A6. I took one from an S4 and adapted it to fit (gutted the airbox) I have been very happy with it. I recently ditched the airbox and am running it exposed. The whine is intoxicating!!
I know John is slow to get these shipped out as he is a small shop and he manufactures them in-house. The build quality is very good.
I have a spare Roc*Euro tube and filter if you are interested.

I modified a 034 inlet hose and used a AFE 11-10125 filter. To make the inlet work you have to trim the air box side of the inlet hose. It needs to be shortened and at a sort of an angle. I just eyeballed it pretty much. There was noticeable whine but not as much as the Roc Euro. I currently have the Roc Euro and the supercharger whine is just intoxicating. Supercharger whine with a 034 hose from 1-5 is about a 2 loudness where as the roc euro is about a 5.
