I think so. I should have a spare sitting around so I may swap it out.

They open at 1-2 psi or something extremely low. Most with vented caps (myself included) have oil seeping from them. Beats blowing a cam plug so I just let it ride.

That was my first thought, but the residue seems to be focused on the lobster claw and inlet. I didnít notice anything on the valve covers or the cap itself.

All hose clamps are tightened in that area too.

Yea... itís a bit tough to put in and take out, but it seems that it seats well. Thereís also no residue around the handle.

I think the oil residue on the lobster claw may be from the dipstick. The tip of the metal dipstick funnel is deformed and the o-ring on the actual dipstick looks a bit worn.

Re: oil residue on lobster claw

I keep cleaning this off and it returns. It's only on the driver's side claw and mostly minimal. I don't think it's the oil cap as there doesn't seem to be any residue on the plastic covers.

While poking around, I think it may be related to the dipstick not seating fully. It seems like that is the central location for the residue. Additionally, it appears as though the top of the dipstick funnel is out of round (not sure about the seat). That combined with a worn o-ring may be the culprit. I'll throw parts at it in the next few weeks to figure it out.

I'm also not fully satisfied with how both lobster claws sit, so I'll remove and reinstall those.

Thanks. I'll probably be raising the front a little. I'm still getting some rubbing on hard transitions.

Oil residue still persists. I think I'll just live with it.

Drove it to the 034M Winterfest.
