Your really don't notice it until the the mid to upper rpms. When you go to pass someone and the DSG drops down a few gears is when you really feel the difference. At this point I'm pretty happy with it as a daily driver.

I also daily my S4, so that's great to know. I've seen a lot of good things about EPL lately, but prior to Audizine didn't know anything about them. Any reason you decided to go with them over say Unitronic, IE, etc?

Am also EPL, AKO took a drive in my car and ended up calling placing an order with Chris that same week. The additional power is addicting. Stage 2 was always the 'safe' spot before you start running into the issues of dual pulley level ratios. there is obviously an increase in power, yet less drastic than the stock -> stage 1 increase. Chris and Tony are in constant communication and listen to community feedback to build out revisions based on what people want to see. I've never dealt with any other tune-at-home companies so im unsure what their software is like, but i will admit the EPL flashing protocol is a bit finicky in my experience. Granted i've been swapping computers and internet connections have been weak so i doubt its a wide spread issue. I've never had an issue other than you have to contact them if you intend to flash from a different computer than you did initially.

Appreciate the info. Add in that they're only a couple hours away from me (thanks @fmzip) and you both may have just swayed me towards EPL.

Also, Excellarate Performance is right next door to them, they specialize in Audi. I had them do my pulley install and Chris and Tony flashed it for me right next door while I watched them to show me the ropes.

What I did was simply take the day off from work and putz around New Haven. Excellerate can set you up with a loaner car for very little cost.

Hoping to place my order here any day with Chris and EPL for stage 2 upper pulley. In the meantime we got some white stuff falling here in the Seattle area.

Car looks stunning! Fellow Sepang S4 owner here, is your paint ceramic coated or something? It always looks impeccable, and its very hard for me to keep the car clean in the New England Winter!

I appreciate you. I think it is my favorite part about the car! I will write something up when I get the pulley installed.

Thank you sir. Just a layer of wax and a product called bead maker which acts as protection or as the name suggests allows for crazy beading. I will however this spring be ceramic coating the car myself after I do a slight paint correction. I also try and wash the car once a week which probably mostly why its so clean. Give bead maker a try though you will love it.

Just do it now! I went EPL Stage 2 on my car with only 12,000 miles on the clock.

50,000 miles now, zero issues. Just change the plugs every 35K to play it safe

Loving your build and attention to detail. Definitely going to be giving your build a follow. Just purchased a bone stock 2013 s4 with only 30,000 miles on it. Excited to start doing a build of my own.

Hopefully I'm not thread jacking too much, but what % tint do you guys have on your S4's?

I'd really love to go 20% (like AKO) but MA tint laws are 35 and I'm not sure I want to deal with the inspection hassle. Looking for some advice, lol.

Rocco went with whatever is legal in CT on my car. Since it's over the factory tint too, I feel it's way too dark. Rocco loves the look of dark tint so consider the hassle you spoke of. We don't have to deal with inspections in CT

Our laws here are 35% too but all of my cars have been 20% and I have never had any issues with cops. If you're not a dickhead on the road you wont be bothered from my experience.

Yeah I agree with that, but now MA has installed cameras for all state inspections. So the inspections have gotten a lot more strict due to inspectors being afraid of letting things slip and having the state crack down on them.

    Test Fit S5 Rotor Wheels

Stumbled upon a great deal locally on a pair of S5 rotor wheels. I have always been eyeing a set of them just could never swallow the prices everyone is asking. The gentlemen I got these from ran over a rock with one side of the car cracking one wheel almost in half. The other two on the opposite side were untouched. I reached out to him and we got a deal done. I got 2 like new wheels with like new tires and a 3rd wheel which is bent for $400.

I dont know if I want to inquire even about repairing the bent one or maybe use it as a decorative piece for the garage. couple days later I got my hands on a new wheel from a local guy in a Facebook Audi group, so I need one more to complete the set. I was a bit bored recently after giving the car thorough wash from all the snow grime we saw. I test fit the two wheels with tires I have...I gotta say I think they are absolute perfection. I wont be keeping these tires either. Once I get the set complete I will be ordering some Michelin 4S's

    Fitment and concavity are perfect.

Good eye, yes it is a pinch weld pad. I hate ruined pinch welds due to inproper jacking. Link below! I spent hours trying to find one which was not bright red but did not have luck! Quality product though I must say.

    Those wheels look awesome.

1 - What size tires will you go with?
2 - Are you running spacers, or are S5 rotors a different offset than the S4 OEMs??

I'm making some assumptions, but I'd assume OE size which is 255/35/19 4S's. Those are S5 rotors which are ET33. The S4 rotors are ET43, so the s5 sits flush w/ out a spacer.

My Hartmann rotors are ET38, so they split the difference between the S5 and S4 offset, IMHO just enough to look good without spacers.

Thank you, I plan on running Michelin PS4S on these guys in a 255/35/19. No spacers S5 wheels are more aggressive than the S4 counterpart. These are a ET33 vs ET43 on the S4. While also being half an inch wider.

Looking good. No rubbing either I assume at that height?

Thanks! No, it's at stock height ( unfortunately ), but even if it were lowered to your more desirable height, pretty sure they would be perfectly fine.

I have ET33 19x9" A8 wheels on my car with factory S4 size 255/35/19 tyres and I DO rub slightly in the rear with passengers over bumps. I have an A4 but it has the factory sport suspension which should be the same height as the S4.

    ECS Aggressive Wheel Spacer Kit

While I hunt for the S5 Rotors to complete the set I have and put tires on them. I decided I would go ahead and try out the ECS spacer kits they were offering. I got this during the sale they had going which had them priced at around $160. This included the extended wheel bolts. The aggressive kit included a set of 10mm spacers for the front and 12.5mm spacers for the rear. Most folks have noted the rear needed just a few more mm to be flush. Once I got the spacers in everything seemed to check out. I did notice the extended hubs were not anodized completely all around. This was not a big deal as it was on a part which would not be seen, something to mentioned about the QC I guess. Install was simple I ordered an OEM wheel hanger tool from Porsche, such an awesome tool and well worth the price. The wheel hanger tools on amazon and other sites all seemed flimsy and had knurling which is not ideal for the application. Not the mention the OEM tool was cheaper than almost all the other aftermarket options.... Install was straightforward no issues there.

On to the first the aggressive kit rubs pretty bad in the back. Currently I am running at 25 3/4 FTG in the front and 26 1/8 FTG in the rear. Even alone in the car the rear would rub on aggressive cornering and mild dips in the road. I do have Michelin AS3+ on my wheels right now which are known to have a more vertical side wall. The front in perfectly fine. I have not had any issues up front at all. Next issue I had is the vibration right when you hit 60mph. Hard to describe as it is not per say a vibration it is more of a wobble even. Once past 70mph it stabilizes. I have tried many different things and many different ways of doing the final torquing and all have yielded the same result. I spoke with my buddy James (@solarsuplex) He has ran spacers and has some a lot of experience with running H&R spacers and has never had said issue. I am worried it may have something to do with the actual spacers. There are a few threads running around where guys have measure the run out in ECS spacers and they were thinner in spots and thicker in others. I will look into this some more.

In the meantime the 12.5mm spacer had to be replaced so I ordered another 10mm set for the rear before our road trip down to Cape Kiwanda at the end of February. I installed the 10mm spacers and I still had rubbing in the rear on larger dips now and aggressive cornering. Albeit it this was with a trunk full of our luggage and a full tank. The roads down in Oregon and through the mountains were not amazing at all so that did not help. I still have the spacers on as it just looks to good even with all the downsides. The man rubbing is occurring where the fender liner bends and goes up into the wheel well and the notorious nipple of where the rear fender ends and rear bumper starts. I may grind this area down as it just seems to be seam sealer and not metal plus this would be good in getting ready to mount the S5 wheels.

All in all the spacers are okay. I am not completely happy at all and will look further into why the wobble occurs. I am looking to purchase a digital caliper maybe and see what the exact numbers look like around the actual surface of the spacer. I will be reaching out to ECS as well. The majority of their troubleshooting help I saw in the threads was about torquing the bolts in the air, which did not help at all. I will add I have had some bad luck with a few of the in house ECS items I have recently purchased.

10mm front and back in the photo below. I will add more photos from different angles.

The spacers really look good with the flowers, too bad you’re not having luck. I had their 10/12.5mm spacers and they were anodized all the way around and never had any vibration issues FWIW. I didn’t run them with my flowers, just the B8 rotors I had for a bit. Now I’m on B9 rotors and no spacers. Stock ride height so no comment on rubbing.

I love the look which is what had made me keep them on. I found it weird that mine weren't It was just in spots. If you look at the photos you can see where its missing. I can get over the rubbing in certain situations but the wobble is getting annoying.
