Great build! Love that color. I too was looking at blue and waited like you and then I came across red with everything I wanted. Totally worth getting what you want.

I am OCD like you and if you want less dust, change your pads. I changed rotors and went to Akebono ceramic pads and could not be happier. Better pad then OEM, better modulation and way less dust.

Keep up all the great work!

I appreciate the kind words. Thank you!

Red was second on my list and a very beautiful color on our cars.

I have always had my apprehensions about ceramic pads in terms of bite and such. It seems I will have to give them a try though on the next run. Just waiting on these to wear down a bit before I get them swapped out.

    Deval Carbon Fiber Diffuser

I never understood why our black optic cars got the normal grey diffuser. Seemed like Audi really got lazy on that end! I looked around at our options, which we really dont have a lot of. The ECS diffuser was definitely a lot more aggressive than I wanted and I did not think it would match the look I was going for with the car. I decided Deval would be the perfect fit. I reached out to @mops@nemesis to inquire about pricing, he was able to get an amazing price for me and with his service it was a no brainier to order from him. One thing that really bothered me about the Deval units was the fact they put their sticker/authenticity decal on the outside of the diffuser. I planned on removing the sticker as soon as I got the piece in. I got to thinking one day and figured I would ask Mops if they could put the sticker on the inside or worst case scenario just send the sticker without adhering it, these are made to order so it should not have been an issue and it was not. Mops reached out to them and got that sorted out. They placed the sticker on the inside for a super clean look and I didn't have to clean the mess that would have been left over. I cannot say enough good things about the service and communication I received. I have bought more things since then and will continue too. Stay tuned

Once the piece came in we had a long couple weeks with snow so all I could do was admire it lol. When I went to install I read on a few places the bumper should be removed and even the deval paperwork says in bold "REMOVE THE BUMPER TO INSTALL THE DIFFUSER". I presumed this was a precaution since the carbon really is not malleable like the plastic OEM diffuser. I did not want to remove the bumper and just went ahead with the install like I had planned. Pretty simple honestly it was really straight forward. The driveway came in handy again, I pulled the car up to the very top where the rear would hang over the top flat plateau portion. I slide under the car undid the three torx screws which hold the OEM unit the rest was straight forward. All around the diffuser clips in with the usual Audi trim style clips which slide in. One thing I will recommend it having a second set of hand to pull the OEM diffuser away from the car while you release the clips from below.

Once you go around and have the OEM unit removed just align the Deval piece and make sure the corner slots are lined up first and ease it in very easy from there. Make sure its seated fully from edge to edge and the gap is even all around. Put back the three torx screws and you are done.

Initially I was unsure whether I loved the piece on my car. The car was a bit dirty and it was over cast so you could not see the finish. It has grown on me alot since the install, now after a wash I am sold and very happy with how it came out.

I completely agree; seemed totally inappropriate, considering what the black optic package does to the vehicle as a whole. This looks magnificent!

    OEM Under Seat Storage Bins

I always enjoyed the seat storage my B6 & B7 had. I had intentions of adding this bins to the my B8.5 A4 but the car was sold before that came to fruition. I want to thank @jettagetupandgo for the questions he answered on this mini project and for the inspiration as well.

I first intended to do the install without unbolting the seats and leaning the seat back..... that went as you would imagine, very poorly! After about 20 mins of trying that I gave in and unbolted the seats and leaned them back. I had someone in the back to make sure the seats would not dent the rear bench or scratch anything. Once you have the seats up though the install is surprisingly easy. Attach the speed nuts first in the areas and line up the locking notches of the bins and pull forward. From there it is self explanatory no fuss. You will need to lay and lean in all sorts of weird positions to line the screws up however.

I am happy with the bins. While not large, they serve the purpose I wanted and that is to hold a microfiber I use to dust the interior off.

    Parts ordered

    4 x N 907 371 05 - Screws (2 per side)
    4 x N 900 880 03 - Speed Nuts (2 per side)
    2 x 8K0 882 601 C 4PK - Storage Bins in black (1 per side )

My opinion very worth it. If you wanted to do just one side too you could just grab one bin. Two obviously would finish it off much nicer.

Is it possible to have the seat in the lowest position and still have the bin, I have trouble with my height as I have to put the seat all the way down. I really want to get these put in my s4.

Yes you can have the seat with the lowest position and it will open with OEM mats. You wont be able to open it if you have weather tech mats like below. You will have to have the seat up just a bit.

I really do like the way our air-box is set up it looks really good in my eyes. I ended up ordering an entire AWE kit. Included carbon pieces, filter intake tube. I sold everything but the intake tube lol. I didn't like the way the carbon looked at all in the engine bay. I loved the inconspicuous look of the intake tube and the fact it was smooth really cleaned up the look over OEM.

After I installed just the AWE intake tube it opened up the sound but I wanted just a tad more. From the get go I did not want raw overwhelming sound of the roc euro intakes. I searched around for a filter that would compliment the intake tube and fit in the OEM air-box. Randomly watching some youtube videos I saw that the the 991 Porsche GT3 RS uses a BMC filter from factory. I figured if its good enough for Porsche its good enough for our cars. Ordered a BMC filter from ECS. It arrived in a few days, went ahead and installed it. I can say I am very happy with this setup. Perfect amount of whine down low between about 2-3k RPM very classy and very OEM+ setup.

Now that you've had this intake setup for some time, Are you happy with the results? Just curious because I was looking to do something similar thinking that an open intake would also be over bearing.

Yes, that is the one I ordered. I have an extra one which I cross threaded the the threads on and had to use bigger screws to hold them in. OCD bothered me so I ordered a brand new one. I would let it go for $40 shipped if you're interested.

Good deal, but I think that would also drive me nuts (slight case of OCD as well Lol). Did you notice a difference in sound or performance between the AWE and BMC filter?

Understandable. I ordered a new a second one for that reason lol. So I did not even put the AWE one in. I went straight to BMC! You will be very happy with the outcome. With the noise a bit comes from the AWE intake tuber and a bit from the filter, culminates into the perfect sound imo.

    Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers

Finally the car has come closer to the ground. I did a lot of research when it came to lowering and the options we have. Initially I was set on going with H&R OE springs and calling it a day. I love the height they sit at but it just felt like it wasn't a "complete" solution. My research got me to the PSS10's. The wide range of height adjust-ability which almost no other coil over system could provide was the biggest intrigue about them. After starting the search I saw that almost every place has them on about a six month back order so they were not exactly easy to get my hands on. I reached out to @mops@nemesis, again he took care of me was able to source a set in about a week. He also provided the best price out there! I would also like to thank @steveyem @jettagetupandgo. They both provided me with an in depth review of the PSS10's since they both have them on their respective cars.

I have only had them on for a couple days now but so far I am more them happy with them. They came out just as I wanted and ride like a dream. Essentially what I wanted was an OEM+ look or a "how it should have come from factory" look. I think they should settle just a bit in a week or two. I will then get an alignment and fine tune the height if needed (Big reason why I didn't want springs). Right now I am about a one finger or so gap maybe 1.25 lol. Ill provide more of an in depth review when I have a few hundred miles on them.

Also? I love the fact that the "Visitor Parking Only" sign behind your car matches your car's paint color perfectly. Was that intentional?

Thank you! It was not intentional, parking was tight that day

Thank you, yes right on track hoping to do wheels next. I got my eyes on a few sets! Perfect setup would be S5 rotors. But they’re like unicorn urine out here. I may settle for something BBS.

When you're rich...sometimes even settling for the best will suffice.
