    E85 in your Daily Driver

I was curious at who else used E85 in their daily driver, and what kind of MPG you're averaging? How does it compare per mile when using e85 versus 91/93 octane?

For the past month I have been running exclusively E85 since I can get it down the street from my house. I drive a stock 14' A4 auto, and have been averaging about 18 MPG. That's typically a lot of highway/country road driving. When I would run 93 octane I would net around 23-24 mpg under the same conditions.

Pump price for 93 here in Pennsylvania is $3.60/gal which is about $0.16 per mile
Pump price for E85 is about $2.60/gal which is about $0.14 per mile

I've ran it practically exclusively for the past three years. I average around 12-14 MPG on surface streets, 18-20 on highway.

Correct, I probably should have clarified that in my original post. The day I went stage two is the day I started using E85 exclusively.

I've been averaging 17 mpg on mostly back roads to/from work with E85. On 93 I averaged somewhere between 20 and 21 under the same conditions but haven't used it in months unless I was traveling and E85 wasn't available.

I love that E85 has remained stable between $2.20 and $2.30 all year where 93 has jumped from $3.00 to $3.50 in the same time period.

For reference, the car has a K04 and I typically drive with the gear selector in S.

I have a stock 2013 allroad. In mixed driving I get ~17-18 on E85. On the freeway, 21-22 is about right. On 93, I get about 22 mixed. I haven't done much freeway driving on gas.

It seems like I easily beat the EPA estimates on E85, but get almost exactly the EPA estimates on 93. Over the course of a year, I expect to save a couple hundred bucks by using predominantly E85.

I've never took a precise look at mileage, but I average a half tank a week at $15.xx for e85 at $1.99 gal - stock cpma.

I think the saving is well over a couple of bills for me a year over premium. Glad I don't do that anymore - sheesh

Same story here. 2013 stage 1 allroad and 16-17 on e85 with mixed freeway and city driving, and 22.6 on 91 octane. But man that extra hp is fun to play with
