    2007 A4 Avant RNS-E Retrofit issue

    Hello,

Before I start, I want to say that I have searched for hours on this topic but I have not found something that exactly matches my issue. If someone is aware of a thread that answers my issue, please point me there.

I have a 2007 Audi A4 Avant. I recently picked up a RNS-E that I am planning to install. I found an awesome DIY for a B7 sedan that shows you how to run a Fakra cable from the shark fin to the nav unit so that you can use the shark fin as your GPS antenna. From the threads I have read, all B7s should have the blue GPS cable connected to he shark fin whether it came standard with nav or not that I should be able to easily attach to and run the cable from.

After reading the DIY I decided to check and make sure the GPS Fakra connection to the shark fin was there before I ordered the extender cable. I pulled everything back and I could not find the blue Fakra connection. There were four cables, one with a purple/maroon connection that runs to the passenger side and three that run to the drivers side. I expected to see the blue one on the passenger side like is outlined in the sedan DIY.

Has anyone else encountered this same issue? Do the B7 Avants not come standard with the GPS cable connected to the shark fin?

Thank you for your help. I am a total noob to forums so if I did not follow the rules please let me know.

Here is a link to the DIY I used. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...-with-pictures!

The Avant has it behind the Sirius tuner. The sedan has it it that location you linked about it. The Convertible only has it if the the car came with RNS-E.

Shameless plug to aftermarket radio installation video for same car.

And we also sell this extension cable.

Thank you for your help. Sure enough it was precisely where you said it would be. I also found this DIY after I searched RNSE Sirius tuner.
