    Engines in a3 and a6

So first real post so hi all.

Let's discuss the a3 and a6 engine specs (physical size and configuration)
    For a possible swap from a 2lt to a 4.2 lt.

I'm aware I could go buy a a6 but there's no fun in that and I've come across engine fairly cheap compared to buying a a6.

    I'm talking about a 2006 model quarto's

"quarto's" huh? I've only been around these cars for about five years now. That one is new to me. Is that a special Quattro model or something?

unless youre friends with marty and moog its not going to happen. the a3 is FWD based and has the engine/trans horizontal where as the 4.2 is longitudinal and will not fit (without a lot of custom shit) into the tiny
    a3/golf bay.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

4.2 v8 into the a3 with longitudinal gearbox and retain quattro?

there is no way you will get a mod plate for that in qld. ever.

Who said any thing about compliance. it would be for track days. And won't be in qld for much loner but I think the issue is aus not just qld.

It's mainly for fun make something different you can deck out any car as much as you want but some ones always done it before. Like putting a v8 in a mini even that's common now.

That's not a bad idea. Might look in to it. Only problem I've found is finding any info on Audi's no matter what model google is useless and just gives you for sale shit or it's just there not as common as a commodore in aus 😩

All the info is out there.

Vr6 swap in your a3 is probably going to be the easiest. Motors are cheap. Swap is easy. Theres a few high hp vr6's in aus (550kw+).
