Thanks y’all. I’m all but certain the house is fine. I was able to get back in on Saturday even though we were still under mandatory evacuation (deputies checking IDs and letting residents in temporarily). House was fine, just smelled a little smoky. Thought we’d be back in to stay on Sunday but got turned away. Entire city on hard closure now, though flames are currently well east and down wind of us. Fingers crossed for today, but info is frustratingly hard to come by.

Hey fellas! LONG time lurker and new kid to the Q model. I picked up my first Audi (B8.5 A4) in May... liked it so much I put my wife and kids in a Q5 earlier this week. I have been crawling through the picture threads all week getting some great ideas for both our cars. Looks like I will be buying myself...errr... my wife a bunch of stuff for her Q5 this Christmas lol.

We were dropping my A4 off for the coolant pump recall and there was a nice 2015 over on the side that just came in... we had been spit ballin about selling her Sorento (ya know, because they have a tendency to catch on fire) and 2 days later it was hers. Funny how that works.

She wanted a "sporty" yet practical mom of 2 ride. So we got a 2015, Q5 premium plus, 2.0/quattro with 30k miles for 25k. It was a lease car that was meticulously maintained! My 4 year old love the big @$$ sunroof. It being a family car, thinking about some good all weather mats, it already has stock roof racks. It is under warranty being a certified preowned, so I might just put an afe dry filter on it for now and let it roll. The stock 18's are just okay, but they have brand new conti's on them... so that might be her winter setup and I wouldn't mind something a little more sporty for the nicer months.

My car on the other hand... it out of warranty and I have been eyeballing either a Neuspeed PM or saying F'it and go APR stage 1. ha.

That's awesome! You know, I've heard that from many others. They've reached out saying how mine and the other awesome Q/SQ around here influenced them to buy one. Some didn't even have these cars on their radar.

It is funny how that works, and so often it happens at random. The SQ wasn't on my radar at all. I came from an A5.

Anyone have some feedback on a pair of 10" android based headrest mounted tablets? We are looking at a long car ride in May of next year and trying to find something that has good results. I see where they have them anywhere from 200 (for a pair) all the way to 1k. Just want something that isn't all hacked together and reliable.

On a side note, I have ordered some little items for the Q... an aFe drop in, color matched fogs, all weather mats and a trunk mat. Nothing too great just yet.

I'm kinda ready to drive all my cars off a cliff and get a Camry. I mean, not really, but fuck. SQ has a small coolant leak, and the steering column is squeaking like crazy. Brand new Tacoma with <1000 miles has a CEL, and wife's '18 Outback just had the head unit shit the bed. All simple enough fixes, but schedule is absolutely nuts right now. SQ requires a reflash back to stock before taking it in, and the Outback head units are back ordered for at least a month because these units are failing at an alarming rate. Fucking cars.

A buzzkill for sure, but got the wife in a loaner (and she didn't kill my wheels driving the SQ today), will have my truck back by Wednesday, and should hopefully have time to deal with the SQ next week. New wheels and tires going on the truck on Friday, so that will perk my spirits up.

Since I'm technically under APR Plus warranty now, in addition to having a dealership that's willing to work with me in spite of being tuned, I think I'm going to let the APR dealer/shop take a crack at fixing the coolant leak and see if they do a better job.

Taco looks proper, nice swift turnaround.

Don’t have a truck yet but I drive a few of my buddies quite a bit and have been renting on work trips, makes the SQ feel so money.

Thanks. And I kind of had a feeling you'd make an ecode comment ;-). The lights need some work in many respects. I'd love to do an HID conversion, but everything seems to be kind of budget and sketchy. Tires are stock size Wildpeak AT/3, 265/70/16. I'm starting to look at some modest 1.5 - 2" lifts. Probably something involving Bilstein 5100s. If I do that I'll probably need to look at 265/75/16 or 265/70/10 (and those bronze TEs). I'd have to get all the factory decals off if I go bronze though. Too much going on with the red in the decals I think.

Oh, and you were totally right about the large change in offset. No issues whatsoever, and it helped the stance immensely.

Basically all over Southern California. I do sales and cover the lower third of the state. I try to plan my travel strategically, but several curve balls made my travel over the last month a model of inefficiency. Typically between work and personal driving I do about 30K per year.

Thought some of our Q BBS Fanatics would enjoy this. One of my best friends in Atl has been going to Petite Le Mans since its inception, his father was french and a die hard motor sport fanatic. They scored this BBS in the pits off a crashed Panoz LMP car just a few years before his father passed away. He made a coffee table out of it and has PLM decor throughout the room it is in. Still gets a massive crew up to Road Atlanta every October, unfortunately I've missed the past 2 years since my move back to Denver. One BBS that carries quite a bit of sentimental value. Not sure if any others attend Petite, but I hope to in 2019.

I've never been to any race events. I guess I don't feel any pull to go. I mean I'm two hours away from Montreal and plenty go to the F1 and say it's a great time but I just haven't bothered.

I was never inclined either. Went with my buddy and had a blast, more the social aspect. Bunch of gear heads getting together and drinking beers. cool to walk the pits and it really is rather mind blowing how these LMP, P1, and F1 cars absolutely destroy corners. Almost doesn’t look real, F1 in particular

Ordered a new mountain bike today. Should arrive late January, which is about the earliest I'd feasibly be able to ride it (recovering from rotator cuff surgery). Made me think, what do yun's do for fun? For me, it's snowboarding, fly fishing, and mountain biking.

Wow, that's nuts given the number of great bikes out there. I have the Gen 1 Following and rode a GG Smash this past year. Awesome bike for the big, steep, rocky descents here. I have an MRP Ribbon coil and RS coil shock, so with it's geo it just er, smashes down everything. It's a big, stretched out bike so I'm riding a size smaller than usual and its perfect. The GG guys are awesome and they're building really great bikes. You'll love it.

I'm 5'11", and I'm really in between M and L in most bikes (closer to L), but the Smash felt perfect in M. I was really tempted to go with the MRP Hazard/Ribbon combo, but ultimately decided to keep it simple with the RCT Coil and Lyric fork. I had a number of phone conversations with the GG guys prior to ordering, and they are super nice and helpful. Great vibe there.

mtn biking and snowboarding here as well, bunch of my buddies are big into fly fishing so I get out a couple of times a year. I work from home so get out on the bike a lot.

I see your in Morrison, I'm not far from you over in the west highlands. My buddy just built up a custom Calling, he's stoked on it. My daily is a custom transition patrol and this summer I built up a custom Commencal Furious BC edition for bike park days. Also have a Transition PBJ for DJs. Stoked to hear there are so many riders in the Q section.
