    Cruise control problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
The cruise control on this car is weird. I noticed on a long road trip and ever since that trip the cruise when set will suddenly apply the brakes to reduce the speed. This occurs in a number of areas including where the speed limit is reduced or in an area where there has been recent road construction. I'm going to get this checked next time I take the car in for service. Has anybody else had this occur?

So you're saying you set the cruise control at say 60 and when you pass though an area where the speed limit is reduced the car will brake to reduce its speed to the speed limit?

Is there a setting in the MMI to obey posted speed limits or something?

I saw a thread about this feature (not issue) sometime back. You may want to check the B9 S4 forum as I think that's where I saw it.

That is exactly what is does. That's okay if I have it set at 120 in a 100 zone that is reduced to 80. I would not want a ticket doing 40 over. 20 over the cops look the other way in a 100 km/h area. Where I live if your caught doing 50 km/h over the speed limit your car is impounded and you receive a $10,000.00 fine plus the towing and storage charge.

That's exactly what someone who pooped by the elevator would say

There's a feature in the MMI where the vehicle will reduce its speed and brake when it detects a change in area speed limit -- i think this is based on the GPS location

Can it be turned off? I prefer to do my own braking.
