What's on Everyone's A4 TODO list (small repair items) for your B6

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As the subject states, trying to gauge how my TODO list is compared to other owners. I have a 2003 B6 A4 1.8T with 180K miles. All the big things work without issues (Turbo, Transmission, Quattro, etc.). However, I have a ton of small things that I need to address (new MAF, replace 02 sensors, Motor Mounts, etc.).

Wanted to make a different kind of post and see what other owners "small repair items" are on their TODO list currently. TIA.

lol these are just the remaining items of a much larger list. I bought the car new and until a couple years ago I didn't even know how to remove the belly pan much less do any repairs. I've been playing catchup ever since.

remove sump bolt from bellhousing and place back in to sump, I replaced a cracked sump but dropped the rear seal area sump bolt and gave up on finishing the job 10 months ago, also need to replace inner CV boot. The problem now is I can't remember where all the bolts go oh a a general lack of motivation :)

    1. Finish the engine build and get it back in the car

    2. Then finish replacing literally everything except for the frame and body panels. (halfway there)

    Nice!
I keep getting tempted by all these 2.7T Audis around here, but I'm holding out to find a 4.2L engine for a future swap.

Oh, and to stay on topic:
    - assemble and swap front doors (due to rust on the originals)
    - install power-folding mirrors and memory buttons
    - replace valve cover gasket and install my new painted valve cover and engine covers
    - wash engine bay
    - oil change
    - exhaust swap
    - replace injector cups
    - install GPS maps onto my Android unit
    - play around with VFIZ
    - swap 630cc injectors for 550cc and tune accordingly
    - install rear shocks
    - install RS4 rear sway bar

I think that's enough for today.

    I'll play along...

In order from high to low priority (somewhat)

    - get new tires mounted and wheel refinished
    - replace lower control arm (thanks to FCP for warranty on my front end kit )
    - replace front dampers (will most likely just swap out current suspension with new coilover kit)
    - install S4 power mirrors
    - replace rear wheel well liner (ripped)
    - fix S4 door blade corrosion
    - paint rocker panels, door blades, USP spoiler and rear bumper
    - replace injector cups and tt225 o rings. (would also like to install the 034 phenolic spacer at that time and pc'd manifold at same time)
    - fix sagging headliner (possibly reupholster with a suede/alcantara)
    - do a paint correction
    - load custom tune onto spare ECU and turn off immo

    motor mounts

    will do someday:
    install b7 center console
    install b7 alarm siren/horn
new hood latch sensor installed but display still shows hood open - figure why or just live with the flashing display

    debating to do someday:
    fix sagging headliner
repair back panel on driver's seat

    Need:
    Tires
    Alignment

    Should:
Flex pipe - before it turns into a need
Replace front hubs as the runout is out of spec causing shuttering brakes due to uneven rotor wear
Replace front subframe thanks to road salt

    Sitting waiting to get installed:
    b7 passenger side intercooler

    Debating on:
    Testpipe

What's on Everyone's A4 TODO list (small repair items) for your B6

Rebuild the set of B7 A4 calipers i am going to install, and powercoat them, then put on Zimmerman front and rear rotors and HAWK pads I got from Europa parts óó aswell as spray the fuck out of the knuckle areas with brake cleaner and make them look pretty.

Install new rear sway bar end links, and POWERFLEX sway bar bushings, for the B6 S4 swaybar I put on.

Put in my ECS rear diff inserts, and POWERFLEX diff mount.

Do a manual gearbox fluid change

    Fix power to trunk actuator/motor.

    Replace license plate light

Delete PCV and route into my catch can.

Loop N249 valve and run the hose directly into the DV.

Install new E-Brake cables to fix my E-Brake handle having to be pulled all the way up to the ceiling.

Put my drivers door panel back on once I get the black clips in the mail.

    FUTUREóó

    1. Buy 550cc injectors and adapters
    2. Remove IM and clean it, along with the part of the block underneath it.
    3. Motoza Stage 1+ tune
    4. Remove all IC hoses and clean oil out.

    FUTURE FUTURE ó

    1. Install Ringer Racing Apikol SMIC and new boost hoses.

    2. B7 Center console

    3. New lower control arms. Probably going to get some 034Motorsport HD lowers and have them professionally installed and torqued properly this time
    Lol.

    FUTURE FUTURE FUTURE

    1. New wheels - probably Alzor lambo replica wheels $500 for the set off of ECS 18x8.5

    2. USP front bumper and maybe S4 rear bumper, or USP rear lower decorative lower valence, USP or S4 door blades, all painted. Iíll probably buy a front lower valence, and use the chicken wire stuff to make the vents if I end up going FMIC. But TBH I want to keep stock look as much as possible*** so I donít want any cutting of the grills or anything.

    3. Maybe S4 shiny silver mirrors?, doesnít really matter. Thatís why itís in FUTUREx3.

    GG mate

    Highest priority to lowest.

*Front pads and rotors- Pads are almost down to the steel backing plate hard to find free time so gotta do what ya gotta do.
    *Rear shocks.
*Replace passenger side front door skin - the threaded wholes that hold the door blade on rusted off so you cant physically mount the door blade back on.
*Cam chain tensioner rattles on start up for about 2 seconds. From what I've read its normal if it only happens on start up
*Coolant feed to the turbo is all crusty and leaking could either be the fitting or the line leaking slightly
*Wheel bearing? Have a slight roaring sound but cant seem to pin point it - could maybe even be road noise from my much wider tires summer tires.
