    B6 A4 Fan Issues

2004 1.8t, Iíve got coolant bubbling in tank. coolant fan not coming on. Well it is coming on but if I set climate control on car to low, and both fans come on. Otherwise no fans come on. Coolant bubbles out of tank if I fill it too much. Coolant tank levels go up and down suggesting that T-Stat is opening. I have heat in car, so I believe coolant is flowing. Temp gauge in car is staying in the middle but takes a long time to get there.

I think the coolant is bubbling because the fans are not Turing on properly. What would cause the fans to work when the climate control is set to low, but not come on any other time.

*recently replaced old fan module with one I found on another b6 because it wasnít working?

Do you have VCDS or other software that can monitor the CTS signals? Are you getting any DTC's?

The lower CTS is used for fan control. When you set the climate control to low it overrides the lower CTS signal.

No DTC codes just low coolant light if coolant gets too low. I may know someone that has software to monitor CTS. I did recently replace my lower coolant temp sensor because the old one was leaking coolant
