    Cool New A7 "Owner" here!

Hey there everyone! I just bought a new to me '16 A7 Prestige. I've been hunting one for about 4 months and missed out on a few, but I think i got the best deal on a '16 in the nation! Pretty much every option minus the sound system.
    Here it is:

Any neat things I should know about the car? Best bang for the buck mods? Any cool "free mods" ?

I fly to Atlanta Saturday to pick it up, I'm excited for a little adventure home! :D

    #1 mod is a Stage 1 tune

At the very least do this - it's like half a car more power....

Every further mod will have diminished returns

Congrats on the purchase. If Stage 2 tune is available for your model— don’t even hesitate. Just do it. No one on this forum has ever regretted going to Stage 2.

Congrats! I just got my black on black '15 Prestige a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! Agreed with above post and many can attest to the stage 1 being best bang for your buck, I plan on doing mine next year when funds are in order. The best visual mods you can do would be tinting the windows and different wheels IMO. I just got mine tinted and it really enhances the appearance, only cost a couple hundred unless you go Ceramic which even then is still considered a relatively inexpensive modification for what you get out of it.

Hmm as far as free mods go take off the front license plate holder if your state does not require one. Easy to do, and if you want to fill in the gap that's left they sell the part online for a couple hundred bucks. Installation doesn't look too hard to do. Even without replacing that part it still cleans up the front end look of the vehicle. I also took off my rear license plate frame when my actual plate came in; I never liked them on any of my vehicles plus I don't like advertising for dealerships.

Im sure your car has more neat features over mine being the face-lifted model but heres a couple things I observed so far that I really enjoy: I like the adaptive headlights that illuminate a corner when turning at slower speeds. Paddle shifters are fun to use during spirited driving if yours has them. MMI has a lot of neat features. Tons of options for music and I find myself rotating between using the radio, Bluetooth, and jukebox which you can load music into. MMI and controls are a pleasure to use overall.

Last tip I'll leave you with is read the entire manual. Lots of helpful tips about using the car and its features and many important points in there as well. Saves you from making silly posts like asking why those bottom "fog lights" won't turn on ;)

    New A7 "Owner" here!

Congrats on the new ride; pictures look fantastic!

Make sure tires, alignment, and brakes are all in great shape - no reason to think otherwise. Then, drive, enjoy and see what you think you might want changed.

Stage 1, or even stage 2, are very popular, as are a few modest suspension tweaks. With regard to suspension, make sure you can articulate what you want changed - if anything - and then get what accomplishes your goals.. again, enjoy! Also, subwoofers are popular updates and with the A7 you have some cool “stealthy” options. For well under $1000, you can add some good sound.

ericw - did you go with Eurocode sways? If so, is there a change in noise, vibrations, etc..? Or, does the car just stay more composed around corners and uneven pavement?

There's no added noise or vibrations. I kept the OEM end links as well. The car just handles 100x better in the corners.

Congrats on the new car! We agree, the stage 1 tune is a great place to start.

APRs Stage 1 ECU software will offer you well over 100hp of gains on 93 octane, with no hardware requirements!

You can read a little more on the software on their site here: https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_u...tfsi_gen2.html

Once that's all said and done, you can bolt on a new supercharger pulley, upgrade to stage 2, and make another ~20hp.

We have APR hardware in stock so if you find yourself looking for a pulley upgrade feel free to send us a PM for the best pricing

    Happy modding!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'll definitely look into everyone's suggestions!

How much does the stage 1 usually run?

Unfortunately I can't tint very much here in NH :( Live free or die, right? lol
