    Hi!
    I need some help for tuning my stock A6 C6 3.0 T 2011 sedan.

    have some questions.

    1. I heard that if i go Stage 2 ( ECU&Pulley) i will destroy my catalyst. Really?

    2. I had tested 0-100 drags, dtc off and brake boosting , and direct gas without brake boost, i dont feel so much difference between because the torque converter goes on when i release the brake and push on the gas. How to get best launch with the car with tiptronic? It feels better with gearbox ecu?

    3. When im going to be scared for the Zf6Hp19 gearbox? In which horsepower / torque , where goes the max limit?

    thanks!

    1. Tuning is not proven to destroy your catalytic converters. I am GIAC stage 2 and have 156k miles on the car. No issues with the Cats.

2 Unless you want to burn out your transmission, please do not try to launch the car by pressing the break and hitting the gas. If you need to take of from a stand still, put the trans in sport or manual and nail the gas. There is no “tune” for the transmission.

    3. ZF rates the 6HP19 @ 285hp which is less than Audi rates the 3.0t motor (310hp). By keeping the transmission serviced and NOT trying to do launches, the transmission should hold up to a Stage 2 tune; mine has. Anything more aggressive, the trans will probably fail in relatively short order.

Keep in mind that the C6 is a HEAVY car; at about 4500 lbs. So consistent, aggressive, full throttle launches from a stand still will stress the drive train. Our cars are not drag strip battlers.
