Inquire with Audi on an extended warranty sold by them. You will pay just as much for that warranty as you would for the chain job out of pocket. And then you're covered if the thing ACTUALLY fails eventually. And everything else that could go wrong with the car in the mean time. It really depends on how long you plan to keep the car.

I read up on this issue. I haven't read a single thread of any car jumping timing or tensioner/guide snapping, or chain snapping. Just complaints from owners of new-ish cars telling audi their car shouldnt sound like that. So they fixed it.
