    2004 2.7T -> 2000 4.2L Widebody car.. easy? Or just find an 03-04 V8 car?

    So, as the post says.. I'm looking at swapping my engine into a widebody car. I found a 2000, but I know '03-'04 was partially CAN bus.

    What are my options? BEL engine with K04s.. I doubt my XS Power downpipes will clear the 5HP26, but can someone say for sure? I don't mind bending them if I have to.. or even putting some 'clearance' into them, 3" is overkill anyway.

    Will my ECU talk to the 2000 TCU or ABS computers? Any other pitfalls in using the 03-04 ECU?

    Any other pitfalls I should watch out for at all?

    Thanks!

    You're in the wrong sub forum. You're looking for C5, and this is C6 for 2005-2011

    Those downpipes won’t clear the tiptronic transmission. You won’t be bending them to clear either, they’re so far out.

    You’ll need the correct pipes, C5 A6 2.7T tip. items.
