3d printed insert center console storage for radar detector.

I’m ordering the radenso RC-M system but want to mount the controller in the storage area under the AC controls in the center console.

Any recommendations on who could handle the 3d printing of something like this or has anyone attempted this them self. I have access to CNC equipment but not sure where to start with its design.

3d printed insert center console storage for radar detector.

I've 3D printed a piece for that storage compartment and made the file available. You can use the free tinkercad.com to alter it to accommodate the remote / controller you want to fit. If you're up for it, it's not that hard to learn how to use, there are a good number of video tutorials.
Search threads for ones I started over the last couple of months in this forum, or look on my build site (http://s6.thefarnys.com) under interior->stereo, for more details.

After design you should be able to use any number of print shops you can find online to actually print it.

Thanks man that’s perfect. What did you use this area for to end up making the piece to go in there?

My 9th grader modified Per’s design to accommodate my radar controls and display as well as my subwoofer control to all fit in the ashtray. For some software, it’s simply adding shapes with the measurements you want. There’s a program called Maya that even lets you take pics of objects so you can overlay them on a project with their exact dimensions. Per’s design is great for the dimensions of the ashtray

Great site! Thanks for sharing the model. I've done a few things for my A7, but mostly repair bits at this point. Some of my stuff is on Thingiverse.com.
