Need help with brake pads for Q5/Macan calipers on B8 S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My brake light came on and just hit 80k, the previous owner never replaced the rotor, so I am planning to upgrade to the Q5/Macan calipers and the rotor. I have spent hours of reading but I canít seems to find the right answer.

    1. What brake pads to get or you guys using? I canít find any from Akebono if I search by Macan, and Q5 have few different trim, I am not sure which trim to choose.

    2. I have to replace the sensor since my brake sensor came on, if I upgrade to Q5/Macan calipers, what sensor do I need?

    3. Should I change it to stainless line too?

    4. Do I need to flush the brake fluid and what you guys recommend?

    5. I am still running stock 18s, it should have no problem for the Q5/Macan calipers right?

I am planning to buy everything I need no later than this weekend, any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Ecs. Look under q5 or maybe the stage 2 s4 brake pads options. Or dealer.

    brembo pad FTW.
Do S/S line ( its only 100$, nothing compared to the whole cost of brake maintenance/mod)
i got some dot 4 brake fluid, which i believe is what the audi oem is. Thats actually the only NON-OEM fluid that i put in my car.
    it should clear MOST 18'.
S4 B8.5 no track, just enjoying spirited driving.

So the pad design is the same as the subaru sti 2004-2016 front caliper. That should give you a ton of options for pads. Just zip tie the sensor out of the way. Definitely get stainless lines. If your doing any tracking or mountain driving, get the macan brake scoops and heat shields and do them at the same time. It's like $45 bucks at your local Porsche dealer.

Yeah I wouldn't be too sure about clearing MOST 18" wheels. If you want to be sure, here is the template to check your wheels:

You can, it just doesn't get much airflow, and the macan ducts do zero with the S4 shield in place. It's three torx screws to swap it, and a very cheap part. I'd recommend it.
