    Turbo Upgrade

So my car has about 213000 km's on it, and there are a couple turbo codes, I am going to try the diverter valve first but if that is not a success and I need to replace the turbo (if it is wastegate failure) what would you guys recommend for doing this on the cheap? Don't want any serious power gains, just would like atleast the stock output back and hopefully do this for 1000 bucks or less.

A used, stock turbo is probably your only option in that budget range. Keep an eye out in the classified sections (A4/A5) for people selling theirs.

Labor alone is gonna run ballpark $500+ unless you do it yourself. But expect to also need another $100+ in replacement fluids.

Wouldn't I have similar issues in the near future if I replace it with the exact same turbo?

Not automatically. 213k is a pretty good life for a turbo. No reason to expect you wouldn't get the same out of the new one.

I am going through this same thing currently at 230k.

It was cheaper for me to get the HPA 'K04' kit and a tune than it was for me to get a stock turbo (only) from Audi... so I am getting some extra power ;)

Just waiting for the parts currently, then doing to work myself.

    K04 is your best bet.
