Edge cases do not a trend make. I'm still at a loss as to how he ended up with the wrong wastegates to begin with. Sean has been shipping these with 1bar for years now.

Yeah I have the 1 bar gates as well. They settled in about 1k miles, I readjusted them and theyíve been fine for 10k miles so far.

Excerpt from my convo with Blake @Etspec when setting these up

    This was back in April

Sooo... SRM is deliberately shipping the gates... they are not a mistake. Who knows what the "issues" with the 1bar gates are. I seem to only hear success stories.

Blake did his best to fight through it with the tune... we went thru about 8 revisions & well over a dozen logs. Ultimately the issue was physical and tune could do but so much.

So now we can move on with an otherwise smooth tuning process

I wonder if those weaker actuators are working on other cars ok? Either way that sucks for you.

This would mean that srmk24s are in the same league as tte780. Why not tte1200 while you are at it?
You seem to think this ridiculous redneck solution is mucho bueno work as well.
This kind of determines your standards.
Choose yourself if you wanna cry or lough.
I canít give you an answer when youíre going by so low standards. We got nothing to discuss.

    Lol... Redneck Solution indeed

But I'd hardly call this a Solution...

Temporary work Around at best till time is allotted to properly replace & or upgrade the Watsegates.

Dont count on it working forever.. All that heat those helper springs are going to get hit with will likely mess up their temper.

Didn't plan on it... I have some 1 bar gates ordered... ...just the time to install will be a challenge.

But for now I can finish my tune

(Although wideband sensor just took a crap)

Bob, it seems like it's a bit after the fact if you've already ordered the 1 Bar but I'd HIGHLY recommend you get the upgraded Tial wastegates from Sean for the K24. It is worth its weight in gold IMO not just because they'll outperform any 1 bar gate, but also because you will never have to worry about them again.

I created a custom Turbosmart wastegate setup for my K24s before they went in the car and I'm glad I did, Blake says the difference is noticeable from a tuning and logs perspective. That said I only did my own setup since SRM hadn't released their Tial version which thus far people seem very happy with.

We could compare the TTE600 then:

    TTE600 - $4,010
    RS6/K24 - $1695

I doubt the smaller TTE600 is going to out produce the SRM product, other than costing about two and a half times as much.

Regarding the helper springs, it is no wonder that the RS6/K24 car you were involved with abandoned the turbos at the first hint of a challenge, you fail to grasp the larger picture. First the springs helped to pinpoint the source of the issue, second they permitted the continued tuning of the car, third they required minimal time and expense to implement, fourth they are completely reversible. You'd be well served to get away from the narrow mindset you are demonstrating.

Temperatures near the exhaust manifold were not unreasonably high when I measured them.

Yeah that's a lot less heat than I would have anticipated.
