    Resonator delete(x pipe mod) ?

Has anyone done a resonator delete on their B9 S4? I remember this was a popular mod on the B8 platform.

I found this video on youtube:

I couldn't get a confirmation on which resonator was deleted and if an x-pipe was put in.

I'm just looking to slightly increase the exhaust note and I feel this would be a perfect mod.

Does anyone have any insight or recommendations on this topic?

I couldn't get any info about what was done in the video either.

    Here's a brief discussion in the A5/S5 forum: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...elete-Thoughts

Haven't found anything about doing an x-pipe or a resonated x-pipe on this platform. Sounds like you may have to be the guinea pig if you want to find out.

Thanks for the link to the S5 forum.

I'll probably give it a try, but instead of replacing the center resonator with a straight pipe I'll put in an xpipe. Hopefully this takes care of any drone the other guy experienced in his S5

This is my S4 and I just saw the feedback for this video on youtube so sorry I want able to answer before! I'll try and get some pictures of the welds tomorrow but as of now, it is a regular exhaust only with the mid reseonator? (resonator closest to the rear muffler) replaced with straight pipes - no x pipe. Not the best exhuast for daily driving but this will do for now until a comprehensive stage 2 cat tune is released.

Thanks for the reply! So you removed the center resonator? If you could post pictures that would be super helpful. I'm going replace the same resonator, but with an x-pipe. Hopefully that solves the drone problem you are experiencing.

I'm pretty sure that is an add on to a pre-existing AWE exhaust. I don't think it's made for the stock exhaust.

iirc that section is just a clamp on the muffler end and it bolts on to the downpipes
