Question Electric seat donor for Manual seat mounting

My A3 came with manual seats. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of how fragile the bolsters are on the seat cushion, as the left side developed a crack and is becoming unsightly. Any local place I've consulted for fixing the "leatherette" wants north of $200 USD, most up to $300. I figured a replacement cushion would be a better deal for the same price. The trick is of course finding one with the matching color.

As luck would have it, I have located a donor in the right color, but it's an electric seat. Mine is heated and has airbags, just no electric motor. One would think hey--why not utilize the electric and find a way to power it up? Well, it's harder than it sounds. And frankly, as I understand it the adjustment range is not as great as on manual. Besides... since I'm the sole driver of this car, I rarely need to make adjustments and the manual controls are perfectly fine.

SO... I'm wondering if I could take an electric seat donor and fit it into the manual seat mounting, so manual controls would operate. Or, can I just extract the cushions off the metal frame and install them on the manual frame?
