    Pulling out my mechatronics unit

Im currently in the middle of doing the repair kit. Im having a hard time pulling the mech unit out of the gearbox housing.
Ive done lots of searches and have found great info but they seem to breeze over this part. I must be doing something wrong if mine is that stuck up in there? Any help would be great?

Did you pull the plug out for the tranny tcu?
Goes in the back drivers side of the tranny.
Then once the harness plug is out the acual plastic ring around plug twists out

Nope I sure didn’t. Pretty sure I just broke something related to that? Is there a ribbon connected to something up there?

I made an extensive DIY print out for a B8 A4 with instructions on how to pull this out.. I had to fix a leaky connector within the mechatronic unit

I appreciate that. It’s too late now though. I’ve got the unit out and I broke the tcm pulling it out so I’m kinda stuck

No worries — it’s too bad there’s no way to upload PDFs to the site to archive.

    Either way good luck!

The gear selector sensor went bad on mine. It gets stuck in neutral and can’t get out without restarting the car
