Ba ha ha ha ha ha! I love it... Some Gulia quadrafilio emblems too. Admit it, it is a pretty damn good looking A5 though?

    And it's not finished.

I priced the trim from audiusaparts, genuineaudiparts, etc. NO One could come close to BKS-tuning even with shipping from Germany. I think it was 1100-1200 delivered. Well worth it because it's what I wanted...

My A5 is almost done...Hope to start on exhaust next week. Just in time to put it in moth balls until spring... The skirts still need to go on, I hope I like the look better than the S line/ S type.

Looking sharp! My only suggestion would be either getting E-Codes or opening up the headlights and painting the amber reflectors grey to look like e-codes haha

Yea, have gone back and forth on that one... As it stands now I have quite a bit of coin into this project that started out as a winter beater. Isn't that funny, I had no idea I'd like this car so much.
I'm in the hotel business, and during the Super Bowl lull in 2018, I drove to my Audi dealer to take a look at this. 9 months later, I own a different car, really personalized. Could have bought a later model S5, but the fun is in the hunt for exclusive parts, and folks on the road trying to figure it out...

I'll reserve judgment until it's finished. But at this point, it needs a lot of work before I'd say it's a "pretty damn good looking A5", quite honestly. I'd get rid of those wheels for sure. I'd also look to upgrade to the B8.5 front end because the B8 nose/headlights look ancient at this point. I see you already upgraded the taillights, but they don't quite fit flush to the bumper, so you should probably upgrade that too, which will also give you the more squared off diffuser lines. Anyway, have fun with it.

I wouldnít be overly concerned about upgrading to the b8.5 front, it looks every bit as ďancientĒ as the b8 now that the b9 is out and...itís the worst looking front end/headlight combination of all 3. With that said...everyone has an opinion. Make it look the way you want it to.

Exhaust is finished, I didn't expect much but to my surprise there's actually something good sounding coming from the S5 mufflers, APR HF CAT, and Cabrio center resonator. Really sounds good.

Honest question, why didn't you just get a S5? Seems like you put in a lot of time, effort and money for the S5 parts. Apologize if you've answered this already.

Pretty interesting to see the B9 RS5 wheels on the B8, although I think 19s fit the body better.

For me, it's a hobby... I do it for the chase of finding cool parts, the fun of changing things, making them personal. Really, it keeps me busy and not chasing women (my wife likes that) The wheels are not B9 RS, they are from my C7, just a spare set been sitting in the garage. And not just S5 parts, RS too. The money really isn't a major issue. I'm almost 60. I have my Rolex, I wear 2k suits to work often, I'm in the hotel business and travel the world for little coin. 3 kids are put through college... Get it? An R8 GT is next on my horizon. But for the time being, I'm going to enjoy this lowly A5 "Gt" Lol-

I totally hear you. All the fun is in the process. I gotta agree that the GT badges need to go, but otherwise I appreciate the very clean OEM plus thing you have going on. I think ecodes will do wonders for your car, they have the best effect on darker colored cars.

E codes are coming soon, I also like 19s here is one of my favorite Audi style wheels. The Gt badges will stay. :-)

This wheel and suspension were the first mods. Totally different car now.

Looks like one heck of a Frankenstein exhaust system you got there, glad to hear it sounds good...the quad tips are a nice addition to your 5.

it's the weirdest thing, I really had no expectations at all. I started with the S5 resonator on the left side, and nothing. I went APR stage II, which requires the downpipe and HF-Cat, which gave a little more exhaust tone. After the body work, I decided to add the right side resonator since it was taking up space in the garage, the wife called it a "gas tank." I'll be damn, I've got a 2 liter that actually sounds good! I might add that I sourced an A5 cabrio center resonator from Audiusa parts since the cab had duel exits from the factory. I wanted to keep it OEM as much as I could.
