    Car starting to start harder

Hello I have a 2007 Audi and just a few days ago when I went to start it up, it had to crank about 10-15 times before it started. This morning it was a little more than that, but then after that I got the traction, abs, and blinking emergency brake like, car ran fine though. When I pulled into my driveway, I shut it off and restarted it and all the brake lights and traction lights were off and it started normally, I donít have any engine codes for this.

I had this issue before but it was a little different , it was only when I put gas into it, it would take a more than normal cranks to start, and I had a gas cap not tightened warning. I forgot what I changed for that, but maybe itís the same thing and maybe itís the same. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing

Fault codes buddy. Have you scanned the car?

Did you scan it with VCDS or with a generic fault reader? Sometimes weird issues like EPC related faults can be stored in other modules like ABS. Worth a shot to check other modules besides engine.

Iíd start investigating a possible MAF or throttle body issues if you have weird symptoms and no fault codes. Or maybe ECU related. Sorry I donít have a specific solution for you but at least it might get you started in the right direction.

Any heavy rains lately? Water in the car? Water in the ECU box?

Oh, any your hard to start issue after getting gas is almost always N80 valve related.

Yea, thatís the what I replaced, couldnít remember. Could it possibly be my issue again? Not quite the same symptoms but the hard start is what made me wonder.

We havenít had hard rains at all recently, and what I used for a scanner was a simple cheap obd2 scanner

Sounds like a crank position sensor to me. You might better fault codes with VCDS.

We had a similar issue with the car starting rough after filling up a full tank. Really weird. It just stopped doing it after a while.
