Odd revolving squeak after start up...?

    Hey guys,

I have searched endlessly for this answer and it's either post about belts, bearings, fans etc but nothing like I am experiencing. After starting up the car and driving for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes I hear a squeak. It sounds like a squeaky tricycle for about 5 seconds then it's gone. It appears to be coming from the front passenger side. Others in the car can hear it too. It happens if I have been driving the car, turn off, then start back up again and drive off. But not every time.

Does anyone have any idea about this? Of course the dealer never hears it or has any idea what it's about.

    Cheers,

Possibly related to climate control fans or vent doors?

I had not thought of this. I know that sound though... but this is more like something like a wheel spinning slowly sound. I am at a loss here.

Only other thing I can think of offhand is secondary air injection or something.

My C5 did that at low speeds until I swapped it. Could be same thing.

Would it do this if the A/C or heat is off? Would it make this weird sound a few mins after driving and only last a few seconds?

    Thank you for the response.

Yes, I've seen that. Bearings get dry, they squeak till it gets spinning, then it shuts up. Some day soon it won't squeak cause the motor just can't overcome the friction of a dry bearing.

You say front passenger. Next time you start the car, put your head under the glove box. That's where the blower motor is.

Unlikely to be it as it does not exist.
