I noted it on another thread but I'll state it here too as well. The owner of the AllRoad you're referring to is a friend of mine. He sold that car about 9 months ago to get into a new SQ5. He did the matrix swap on the SQ5 as well. He's now sold the SQ and has left the Audi family all together in favor of a lovely AMG E63S. Can't say that I blame him on that move at all as I'd take that car over any Audi model...well, U.S. models.
To my knowledge he's still the only one in the U.S. to have done the swap on any vehicle. You need the matrix lights (which are the easiest thing to source here, you can find tons of used ones on Ebay), a custom wiring harness, custom coding, and the hardest thing is you need to know someone at a dealership in a country that has matrix lights. There's a special machine that U.S. dealers don't have that is needed to calibrate/align the lights. He was working on a way to get around needing the calibration machine, but I don't remember where things landed with that. I can ask him next time I talk to him. It's a lot of time and a lot of money for something that honestly no one will actually notice other than you. So unless you know my buddy and can somehow magically convince him to help you with all the secret sauce; your time and money would be much much better used in a lot of other areas.
