    FL matrix LED headlights...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Trying to find some face light rs3 matrix led headlights and the only place I’ve seemed to find the euro led’s was TAG.
But I don’t believe those were the full Matrix LED’s.

I’m converting my PFL S3 to a FL rs3 front and want to source matrix LEDS for the lights.

    Any help would be great!

Pretty sure they are not gonna work on your car. Fitment is one thing, functioning is another.

I would agree that the Matrix LED’s wouldn’t be worth the cost or effort and it would require significant customization to get them to work similar to non-US spec cars. You might want to focus on the other cosmetic parts and possibly performance upgrades for your conversion.... BUT its your money to do as you please. To answer your question... try the the Audi RS3 facebook group and post the question. There are some guys that can source euro parts...and possibly used parts also.

i remember seeing only one person having retrofitted matrix led's (wasnt an rs3) and like other stated at a significant cost. I think it was on the audiworld forums. Last i heard matrix retrofit is being worked on, maybe ping alex @ europrice for an update on this.

That's what I heard from Europrice, at least 5 months ago. I doubt it's just wiring either right? What sensors do the matrix LEDs use?

    Thanks man,
Yeah I think it was an Allroad who did the matrix swap successfully.

I’ll contact Euro price and see if they have any updates

I noted it on another thread but I'll state it here too as well. The owner of the AllRoad you're referring to is a friend of mine. He sold that car about 9 months ago to get into a new SQ5. He did the matrix swap on the SQ5 as well. He's now sold the SQ and has left the Audi family all together in favor of a lovely AMG E63S. Can't say that I blame him on that move at all as I'd take that car over any Audi model...well, U.S. models.

To my knowledge he's still the only one in the U.S. to have done the swap on any vehicle. You need the matrix lights (which are the easiest thing to source here, you can find tons of used ones on Ebay), a custom wiring harness, custom coding, and the hardest thing is you need to know someone at a dealership in a country that has matrix lights. There's a special machine that U.S. dealers don't have that is needed to calibrate/align the lights. He was working on a way to get around needing the calibration machine, but I don't remember where things landed with that. I can ask him next time I talk to him. It's a lot of time and a lot of money for something that honestly no one will actually notice other than you. So unless you know my buddy and can somehow magically convince him to help you with all the secret sauce; your time and money would be much much better used in a lot of other areas.

    x2 on this.

It's not physically possible to do unless you have higher up VAG connections. Just get the ecodes and call it a day.
