Dual Pulley E85 mixture tune Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Question for those Dual Pulley folks running E85 or mixture of it (i.e. E30 to E40).
Did you have to upgrade your low pressure (in tank) pump? If so what are the options?

I am GIAC stage 2 single pulley, I've been running E3x on the single pulley Race file for a while now, and I don't want to upgrade to dual pulley and run pump gas and making less power than what I am getting now.
I was told that I will need upgrade low pressure pump if I want to run E85 (for even E3x) on dual pulley Face file from GIAC.

Any recommendations on the low pressure pump upgrade other than GIAC pump kit.

You only need to consider upgrading the HPFP.

Stage 3 S6 guys are using the same factory LPFP as you. You're not maxing out its fueling in your car.

Dual Pulley E85 mixture tune Question

I’m DP with an E40 file . I was running the OEM LPFP until it was kind of dying . Replaced it with a OEM flex fuel pump . Practically the same Design just modified the bottom of the basket . Couple members on here seem to run a the walbro 450 as a secondary pump attached to the basket.
Main issues is fuel starvation below 1/2 tank . The basket can’t refill as quick as the pump is pushing out .
All this of course after upgrading the HPFP ;)

Do you have access to E85 or flex fuel? Do you know the ethanol content of the fuel you have access to?

It’s all important to know. For me I run a 93 DP tune and a 95 octain or E28 blend but I only have access to flex fuel which is E51 min.

Like others have said do the autotech hpfp upgrade. You will need it with DP running ethanol. I always ran around an e30 blend with stage 1 / 2 with all stock fueling. When I upgraded to DP I couldn't run more than e27 without throwing a lean code. The hpfp made my car feel faster in the top end, I think it was starving for more fuel.
