Anybody have a pic of the front splash shield w/fasteners installed?

During a vehicle service, the dealer completely dicked up the front splash shield. When the tech reinstalled it, he jettisoned all eight steel fasteners and instead used 4 zip ties (plus the three rear bolts). The real kicker is the two new bolts that he installed in the front that I can’t remove....they just spin and spin but don’t loosen and I can’t access the other side to see what they are attached to. I just want to see a clear pic of what it is supposed to look like so I can show the service manager how the tech botched the simple task of reinstalling the splash shield.

They're probably the push and twist style fasteners. Sometimes mine get stuck you have to pull down on the shield while unscrewing it. Should come right out.

Okay, I figured out what happened. The two new ones he installed were just regular screws and once screwed into that sort of opening, can’t be unscrewed. I was able to shove a flathead screwdriver between the panel and the attachment point, apply pressure until the threads fatigued enough to pop out. It would have been simpler if the tech had just saved the damn fasteners and reinstalled them. Sheesh!

fify - what in the actual f with the screws and zipties? was this an actual audi dealer or a local craigslist "shop" you might want to consider having an indie shop look at the work performed on your car if the first shop couldn't handle the technicalities of r&r a splash guard.

The water pump failed as we were returning home from Florida (lost all coolant) and the closest Audi dealer was several hours away in Memphis. (I called them 7 times and they never answered their phone!) Next best thing was a VW dealer 30 miles away in Tupelo so that’s where I had AAA flatbed the car. They actually got us in right before closing on a Saturday and diagnosed the problem. I met the tech and he seemed to know all about the 3.0T engine, where the water pump was located and so forth. Why he couldn’t handle a simple plastic shield is beyond my comprehension.
