So I was trying to have my intake for my 4.2L powder coated and the shop jerked me around for a month then tried to sell me this IMG_5069.jpg I refused it because it looked like shit from all the gas bubbles in the paint.. they then called me 3 days later and said that itís just not working and they canít do it. So I went to pick it up and they sand blasted a hole through itIMG_5096.jpgIMG_5097.JPG is this fixable?

This is why I shop around until I find a company who is reputable and then give them a rest project first (e.g. something small that wonít matter if the F it up). Itís time consuming to go this route but so worth it in the end when you find the right guy

Damn.... I would JB weld it. I had to do that on my valve covers. That or replace it. I believe the top half of the intake is aluminum and the bottom half is magnesium. You might be able to have someone weld it up and grind it smooth. But at that rate, you're approaching replacement cost.

Wow...sucks... That's some pretty aggressive sand blasting if it cut a hole in it. I guess it might have to be to blast off powder coating but pretty shitty job none the less. Any chance they will reimburse you for your now damaged IM? I'd be banging on their door pretty damn hard, if this were me.

Edit: Oops, sorry. Just saw this.

Yes they just donít know what they were doing. He was sand blasting in one spot for to long. And I told him he needs to pay for a used one that I can find or him and he already refused..it sucks to because Iím in Germany and laws are different plus Iím leaving for Poland for a month now.. so it makes it even harder to do anything for now

You can find parts in Germany, I see in eBay, not too expensive.
Since you are in Europe, try some Latvian sellers, parts are cheap over there if you decided to buy.

Why would someone drill ports into each intake runner at least thatís what it looks like? Meth ink. Maybe? IMG_5100.jpg didnít notice it till now was about to buy this .. would it be a benefit? Could I use it for meth hook up? Waiting for the seller to send me a picture of the top.

CERTAINLY, so long as you tune for it.

As for your holes in the intake from sand blasting. Those aren't really holes.

I have a S8 manifold that experienced the same issues. I never had mine sand blasted but upon inspection when I got it, the coating had bubbling in similar locations. When I picked at it, I would get those craters. Basically what happens is the alloy corrodes and kinda creates an air pocket/soft spot.

I'm away from home for a couple more weeks but I can gladly take pics.

As for that paint job, that pretty damn shitty.

Oh no it went trough if you look from the inside you see the light shining through..

Could I cap the inlets until I do the meth set up?

Oh ok. Guess your corrosion was worse than mine. And of course you could cap them.

Nah. Sandblasting is a much broader area than that tiny hole. The coverage is about 1 to 1.5in.

I've dealt with sand blasting for years. For goodness sake you wear simple RUBBER GLOVES in the booth and I've sprayed my hand with the gun with various forms of grit.. You're not blowing through metal.

But that ACTUALLY looks like they took a sanding disc/grinder.... looking at the direction the grain is going
