32k miles front brake replacement S6, no issues, just hate the dust

Finally got around to replacing the front brake pads with the Wearever Gold from Advance Auto. Sick of the horrid brake dust from the stock pads so figured I'd give the Wearever's a shot since other members have mentioned they have had good luck with them.
Overall the stock pads were down about halfway. The rotors were at 36 mm so 16k miles/mm. Definitely could have gotten the other 16k miles out of the rotors and pads but the dust... the wretched dust....
Anyway here is the price breakdown. (There are plenty of other good threads with pics and how-to's. Besides it is a pretty straight forward process.)

Advance Auto Wearever Gold pads - $30
New shim/dampers - $162 (I know others have re-used them but I am usually not so lucky when I try to re-use something like this.)
Rotors - $560 (Revised part number 4H0-615-301-AL old part was 4H0-615-301-T. (I'm not sure what the change actually was though.) (Europaparts had them same day. Great place.)
Brake pad wear sensor - $15 aftermarket (Definitely needed since the old one crumbles like paper mache.) Also there is only one on the inside driver's pad. (Some parts places say you need 2, one per side...not true))
New caliper carrier bolts $28 (Again some re-use but it's cheap insurance to replace as recommended.)

Only did a few miles bedding them in but feels the same as stock so far.

Solid. That's a damn cheap price for the pads and honestly what they should cost. We've gotten so use to outrageous markups on stuff like that.

The parts guy at my dealership says that when there is a revision to an item like brake discs it is due to a change to a different manufacturer for the part.

Thanks for the summary. I may be doing the same. In the past, I've used https://www.audiusaparts.com/ for brakes and rotors.

I priced up the rotors and wear sensor. It came out to $551 shipped to NJ versus the $575 you quoted. Hey, every dollar counts.

As for the shims / dampers, do you know what part number that is? I can't find anything on the S6 Brakes diagram that matches that description. I'm thinking maybe #9? If so, how many do you need? Is it 4 sets for 12 total?

My only issue with shipping rotors is since they are extremely heavy and they tend to get dinged up on delivery. I am not sure how they get delivered to the dealerships without much damage, maybe better packing materials from Germany, but they are fine when bought direct from there or Europoparts which is just like buying from the dealer but better price, but shipping something like that usually doesn't work out well in my experiences. I'll gladly pay a little more to be able to inspect and reject if need be. That last mile delivery is like Ace Ventura. LOL

For the shims, as wwhan pointed out, this is the best I could find for the set.

Me no drivey much so car has not moved since initial post. I'll report back after driving a couple of days, particularly after the next car wash when the weather is better. With the OE pads the wheels would be black 2 driving days after washing them.
