2015 RS7 Issue with Using SD Cards or DVDR Disk......

I just bought a 2015 RS7 (with b&o audio) and I thought I'd load up some music into it for the car's first road trip under my ownership. So I took an sd card, formatted it in a camera, and then loaded up some music...a mixture of mp3's, wma and a few other formats. Put the card in the slot, and the car says it is not compatible. So I figured the 'other' formats might not play with the audi system, so I deleted them...now only mp3 and wma files are there. Still not recognized by the car audio system. I tried loading up the same files on a formatted dvdr disk, same result.

I'd love some help on exactly how to get music from my computer into the car...what I need to do in terms of sd cards, formatting, and what file types will the car system work with. This stuff works seamlessly in other cars, not sure why the audi system is having a problem with these formats. Is there something about a file structure it needs?

It's frustrating...I have this killer audio system and no good music for it...

    Thanks!

The card I was using is a 64gb, maybe it wasn't formatted in fat32 format (not sure how to do that, will do some research on it). Maybe I'm better off just using a smaller card, will try something 32gb or smaller with the same music and will see how it goes. I have tons of sd cards that I'm otherwise not using. Thanks.

Get yourself a SD to USB card reader/writer and connect it to your PC. You format the card just like you would format a drive or a floppy disk. Connect the card reader to your PC and insert the SD card. Open up Windows Explorer and find the removable drive. Right click on it and select Format. Select FAT32 as the format when the formatting window pops up.

Thanks. I tried a 32gb card and it worked fine. The sound is awesome, it's a shame that so much of the music we listen to that is streamed is of lower quality...
