    I am building my 058 block eagle rods weisco pistons for now im trying to do a cheaper turbo upgrade and go with a bigger turbo later was thinking about the K04 but i stumbled across a gt2871 and was curious if i can run either on a stock tune temporarily with a front mount intercooler stock intake with larger diameter intake tubes. Also with the gt2871 should i go with new oem crank bolts or go with ARP studs so i dont have to chamge them out later ? Just looking for a baseline on what i will need for each turbo

    Cutting corners is never good. Run the right turbo at the right time.

    However, the stock crank bolts are fine. No need for studs.

    Not necessarily trying to cut corners just trying to get a baseline on what i need for each turbo

    Look at the S200sx, or the S200SX-e if you want a little better spool for a tad more money.

    The they can be had for $530-$700 respectively and are in the 350-550hp range.

    You need a wideband first. Get that, then run whatever you want and watch your AFR's.

    A BT on stock programming wont yield more than 7 psi. All depends on how smart you are about driving.

    7psi on a k03 and 7psi on an HX52 is the difference between inflating a beach ball and inflating a bounce house.

    Pick a turbo, or pick a horsepower goal, or pick the cars' purpose and build the engine accordingly. It's literally that simple.

    I wanted a highway warrior, so I went with a bigger turbo. Street light to street light? 2871r/3076r.

    There's so much information on Audizine that its silly these questions are still being asked. Not to dog you at all (which it may seem like), but do more research, and you'll find ALL the answers you're looking for on here.

    Wheel, or crank? 2871r would probably be a good bet for you.

    Wheel. Ive came across a 2871r and just recenty a 3076r for about the same price also I need to start looking at tune options what would you recommend?

    From what my poor memory serves me, I believe just south of 400awhp is maxed out for a 2871r (unless race gas/e85?) maybe less than that.

    I use Maestro. I can't comment on OTS tunes.

    2 reasons you can't run a larger turbo on a stock tune is the fact that the timing map is going to be way off seeing the turbos are not going to spool the same and even at low boost you will still be flowing more air with the GT2871 then you would at high boost on a K03.


    If you own a AEB car then you might want to talk to Ian about tuning, there are not many people that tune the narrow band 02 sensor 058 cars for larger turbos.

    Motoza Performance is a good option if you have a facelift car. All tuning is done via E Logs, so fairly easy for the end user. I've got their software on 2 of my cars.
