    Is anyone running this setup?

I was under the impression you get gapless playback but I've connected an HDD and an old MP3 player and both have gaps between the tracks. I tried an SSD too but it wasn't supported.

Still sorting mine out but this might help.....from the RNS-E Mk2 owners manual.

The Audi music interface supports USB stor-age devices from "USB Device Subclasses 1, 2 and 6". The manufacturer of the storage de-vice can provide information about its "USB Device Subclass".

The following USB storage devices are supported:
    -USB sticks
    -Single card reader
-Multi-card reader (first used card slot)
-USB MP3 players that do not require any special driver software
    -External USB flash memory
-External USB hard disks (HDD) -l", 1.8", 2.5" -drives with an operating/continuous current of 500 mA maximum
-MTP player (activate MTP mode on the MTP player)

Thanks for the info. The main issue is the gapless playback for me though; I'm fed up with it on the SD cards.

I had a look at the manual and I couldn’t find anything about gapless playback.

There's a member called PetrolDave who said he had an HDD attached and didn't have gaps. I've messaged him but he's no longer active on Audi forums.

Tried a few different approaches but it's all the same; gaps. Think I'll just sell it because I don't really need the extra capacity.
