    Two words... Disc Italia .

Front pads for my 2013 s6 that I can finally say are grippy and do not squeak!!! Worth every dolla!
Highly recommend to anyone who’s car sounds like an old box truck slowing down . The high pitch squeal gets very old and ruins the whole experience of driving this beast

I've hear the Advanced Auto Parts wearevers also have no squeak, minimal dust and low cost if anyone is looking for a cheaper non- ceramic solution. I might have to give the semi-metallic a try due to the heat bringing the high pitched squeal out from OEMs.

I have a set sitting on my bench ready to be installed this weekend. I'm ready to get rid of the squeal and the dust!

Install was pretty easy. I checked my rotor thickness and I'm about halfway to replacement time. Pretty easy brake job.

No squeak at all! I'm pretty impressed with these pads honestly. They have a nice progressive feel. Sometimes the initial bite on the OEMs was pretty abrupt, these transition nicely into a solid brake feel.

Hate to bring bad news but Mine were squeal free after disc Italia pads for a few thousand miles then it returned...I think it is the rotors unfortunately. Good news is the brake dust is much better and was worth the swap alone. I am going to pick up some new rotors soon hoping that will fix the problem for good. Maybe yours will be different.

Are you using the disc italias or the wearevers?

Disc Italians pads with stock rotors. They were fairly quiet right after the install then after a few hundred to 1k miles I developed a small squeak on light presssure only. Now I have a full out squeal.

    You need to brake harder.

Gentle braking is what leads to squealing brakes, since it does not bite into the rotors hard enough, soft application just polishes the the rotors.

Street brakes shouldn't squeal regardless how you brake. Thankfully, mine only squealed very little under very light application in winter, but now are dead quiet. Stock brakes are awesome performance-wise, but the dust is just ridiculous. Never had a worse car than this, and thought the Porsche was bad. The only good news is, contrary to Porsche, the dust on this car is easy to clean off with a pressure washer, so will keep the stock pads.

Well I have a 45min commute on highway and I am forced to brake lightly since I don’t want cause a wreck lol. Or just slowly coming to a stop waiting to turn onto a main road from a stop sign squeals. Even still never had a car where brakes squealed this much. There are many threads with others having the same issues.

Also fwiw my rotors have a pretty big lip on them and seem to be slightly grooved. Not sure why but you have a 2016 and it may just be my rotors are too worn with almost 68k miles

Ugh - I'm in a similar situation as you... stop-and-go traffic with no daily opportunities for hard stops. I just bought Disc Italia pads to get rid of the obnoxious squeal, and only added rear rotors since my fronts had 1.5mm left.

You are the first person I've seen on here that's indicated a squeal with the Disc Italia pads - did you replace the anti rattle shims on the front pads or reuse them for your brake job?

Disc Italia has both Kevlar & Ceramic pads, which ones are squealing?

It's not uncommon for semi-metallic pads to make some noise from time to time, but neither my OEM pads nor my Wearever Golds have ever really squealed... (shrug)

Ceramic pads generally don't squeal, but they don't perform as well as semi-metallics in higher-temp (read: higher-speed/harder use) scenarios.

As with most things, it's all about tradeoffs...

I am also looking at Wearever pads at Advance Auto Parts for an RS7 (with steel rotors).

It appears Wearever gold for RS7 front are ceramic while for RS7 rear they are semi-metallic.
[I believe for S6 fitment the Wearevers front and rear are both semi-metallic.]

Is it a bad idea to have ceramic pads on the front and semi-metallic pads on the rear?

what makes you believe in the noise comment.. Agressive (dusty) pads produce much more vibration especially at slower speeds. Agressive braking prioduces no squeal as a rule. My buddies Astion Martin with ceramic disc squeals like a stuck pig. 10k option. Nothing amiss here...just how it was engineered. Hard braking will eliminate the squeal for a while but under light braking the squeal may eventually return. Ceramics pads are an option but it’s my unscientific experience that they stop no where as short as OEM. You will get no squeal, no dust and longer stopping distances. It’s a trade off.

Just put the golds and new rotors on my ride at 37k. (Rotors had a bad lip on fronts). Will say its hella quiet compared to before. Dust is too early to say but would say its way better as well. No stopping power sacrifice I can tell at this point.
