    Hello all,

Does anyone know where the sports diff control module is mounted in the car? Searches on here and google yielded no results. I’ve checked in the trunk, under the rear seat and under the hood and have not found anything. Have any of you come across it by any chance?

    Part number is 8k0 907 163

Thank you sir, it’s exactly where you said it might be. It’s mounted on the side of the battery in the spare tire area

Yes, I took it to the dealer and they couldn’t code it?

I got a replacement module from a wrecked car on eBay, and once I installed it, I got a code that said it wasn’t matched to the car. No big deal, I thought. Much like my 3G+ retrofit, I figured they would be able to remove component protection in this module, but they said they couldn’t.

I’m very skeptical about this, I think that they’re giving me the run around. Any idea about what I should do next?

Did dealer give any explanation why or they just did not try? If no explanation, just find other dealer!

They said “we can communicate with it, but we can’t reprogram it to your car”. Which is literally what I can say with my VCDS lol.

I guess finding another dealer is an option, just reluctant to buy another $150 car wash...

Yes, this sound they don't know how, at least vin is not blocked(otherwise they should inform you). If module is ok(we and sellers normally never know that if getting used part) one alternative is this, same money, but as far I know, if no success you don't need to pay(just cable expense, but maybe some friend etc has!

Update for the benefit of all that encounter my same problem: The AWD module CAN be reprogrammed by the dealer. It’s just that my specific dealer apparently has zero competent personnel.

    Cheers

So, were you able to get it successfully programmed? Curious if you discussed the skill deficiency with your dealer?

I know this thread is 2 years old. Does any know why "AlaskanAudi" replaced the Sport Diff Control Module? I'm getting code 01324 all wheel drive control module. The car is a 2010 S5, everything seems to be working ok. No leaks but have the sport diff light/image on the dash.
