    12V Lighting Advice

    Hello All.

I'm adding fog lights to my lower grill and would like to tap into the DRL for the 12v source. Which means the LED switch I add inside will only work when DRL is on(engine on). Where is a good place to tap into the DRL. Is there any problems with doing this?

The fog lights are also bi-xenon, where can I tape into for the high beam to function in conjunction with the factory high beam?

    Thanks!

Sorry forgot to add. I have a 2014 A6 Prestige with LED headlights.

Tapping into anything on this car and you run the risk of creating electrical gremlins and super fun faults... Especially something with an amp draw like your fog/driving lights. I'm curious how/where you are integrating fog lights into the grill? The LED headlights have a fog feature to them. I don't like this idea.

I'm sure he's trying to do the parking lights with foglights thing....I don't think there's a way to get what he's after.

But I also agree, best to leave it alone.

You got get the ACC lower grill which has 2 round cut outs. Here is an example ebay link
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-AUDI-A6...wAAOSwvphak8-p

it comes with 2 round ACC covers. I plan to retrofit the fog lights into that area.

I plan to use a relay which taps 12v directly off the battery and use the 12v from the DRL as just a signal. Do you think this will stall cause a problem?

I would think if you're just running a relay there wouldn't be any issues.
