OEM tire warranty - sidewall blister

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I noticed one of my front Pirellis has a sidewall bulge, likely from pot hole impact. These are the 30 series 255s on the staggered wheel setup. The tires only have about 2k miles on them. Does anyone have experience negotiating with Pirelli or other tire manufacturer to have OEM tires warrantied for such an issue? Am I s.o.l. due to it likely being from an impact? I've seen multiple folks post about the same issue. Of all the performance tires I've had, I've yet to have one be damaged like this.

Try to find a Pirelli dealer having a good day, that’s about all you can try and do.

I believe there is an OEM tire warranty. I believe it should be with your manuals.

The OEM warranties usually only cover factory defects. Your damage is considered road hazard. Some tire stores like Discount Tire will sell you road hazard protection on a new car, but probably not after the fact.

    Good luck

Had the same issue - tried to go the tire warranty Route.

It was considered road hazard and was not covered. :(

I guess working at a car dealership I hear the horror stories but I bought the tire/wheel, dent, and full windshield replacement warranty with my car. Best 2k I’ve spent already covered 1500 in damages.

With the extremely low sidewalls we have on performance cars these days, when I replace tires I now always add the road hazard warranty. I have used it every single time due to the horrible condition of the roads here in CA thanks to a political base that takes the money out of the transportation budget and gives it to people who contribute nothing to our society but drama, violence and a robust criminal justice system.

Did you happen to purchase wheel & tire insurance through Audi when you purchased your car? I never do but decided to when I picked up my RS3 and it was the best decision in my life. This winter alone, I went through four tires due to pot holes, all of which were covered, and replaced by Audi free of charge.

I passed on the wheel/tire insurance, unfortunately. I didn't realize just how short the sidewall is on a 255/30. Lesson learned.
