    Mods for stage2-intake/down pipe

Hi, I’m new to C7 S7, currently on stage1 soft wear.
I read a log of discussions about intake/down pipes.
But I still have some questions, would be great if someone can give some advices.
About Intake, does anyone currently running AWE gen2 carbon intake? Does it still loose power?

I’m thinking to go stage2 in next month.
For stage2, some people said it must change down pipes, is it true? Or not? If really need to use aftermarket down pipes, which one is better to go?
APR or AMS? a little worry about connecting with AWE exhaust, so far as I know that APR need a certain extension pipe to connect AWE. What about AMS?

    Thank you all.

I believe AWE has documented info about power gains by changing from stock to AWE gen 2 intake. Same car, exhaust, tune, etc - just swapped the intake and dyno results are shown. There are a few here that have not changed downpipes and gone Stage 2, but very low number compared to those with aftermarket downpipes. The AMS pipes will directly replace your stock ones and bolt right to your existing exhaust. APR are longer (cats are under the car instead of right near the turbos) and will require exhaust modifications. APR works out to be a lot cheaper because they include the stage 2 tune with it. AMS is more expensive, and you then need to pay for the tune on top of it all. However, there has been a significant number on this forum that have had trouble with spacers for O2 sensors and check engine lights as a result. This is why I decided to go the AMS route and am very please with the results both in performance and in the exhaust note when combined with my Milltek resonated system.

Thanks for tips. May I ask which intake you are running now? For downpipes, I decide to go with AMS and see if it could fit AWE touring exhaust.
There was only few S7 which with tuning at my hometown, so barely no one can talk with.

I know kpriv has the AMS downpipes combined with the AWE touring exhaust. I believe he needed to make a slight modification at the connection between the downpipes and the exhaust, but there was no welding or real cutting involved. I believe he just needed to do a bit of grinding at the edges.

I have the AWE gen 2 intake. It looks great, but I can't say that I have any data on performance, other than what AWE has posted on it's website.

Yah, I don't recall I've seen S7 in TW, those are close to non-existent there.
However my neighbor had S8 as well as A7.

AWE gen 2. Very happy with the slight increase in noise it produces. Only problem is USP sent me one with a broken mount and they’re not willing to send another one unless I either pay $$ or send the original back first. Stupid!
