Bumper damage

I'm so pissed off at myself, so my bumper got caught in the sidewalk and broke off as I pulled out of parking spot. Took it to a body shop as both tabs that hold to the body frame broke off and was told they can try to repair ir but it's not recommended because all the weight and that's what keeps it attached to the body frame. I found a link to a blog of a repair online but I don't know what's the best course of action .

I'm sure this has happened to other members, what are your recommendations?

Buy different bumper, take it to have it painted. Install yourself and save a ton of money. Or pay out the ass for a shop to try and fix it and after it doesn't work/hold, pay again to have it done right. It sucks, but sometimes we mess up. Happends to the best of us.

Buy an aftermarket one or try some local junkyards for a stock bumper.
